Five Years by Duran Duran

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Duran Duran have done another David Bowie cover. This time, it is for the song "Five Years", which was the opening track on Bowie's 1972 album called The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

The songs is about an impending apocalyptic disaster that will destroy the Earth in 5 years. Perhaps timely given the climate change in the world. David Bowie's longtime pianist Mike Garson accompanies the band on the song and in the music video. Take a look ...

"Five Years" was written by David Bowie. Duran Duran's version was produced by Duran Duran and Joshua Blair. It is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today. We've added it our 2021 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. Enjoy!

Fun fact: Duran Duran have covered David Bowie before. In 1981, they recorded "Fame" for the b-side to their single "Careless Memories." In 1995, they recorded "Diamond Dogs" which was an extra track on the Japanese version of their album Thank You.

Cheers then,
—Davearama
