Welcome to the countdown of our Top Songs of 2014. Every year we start with the song that didn’t make the Top 20. We like to call it the bonus song as it gets its own call out. So without any more delay …

#21 in our Top Songs of 2014 is “Sanctuary” by Jody Watley. Click on the title to read what I first wrote about it.

The song really wasn’t an official single. We photoshopped the above image for our iTunes playlists. However, it was a teaser for The Queen of Cool's album Paradise, which was released this summer to glowing reviews, including ours!

“Sanctuary” is a summer chill R&B groove that reminds you to take good care of your home life. But it doesn't have to be summer to enjoy the vibe. It sounds awesome in December, too! The lyrics are uplifting and it is definitely a feel-good song. Just have a listen.
