The Passion by Jody Watley & SRL

We were away for a long weekend, but we are back to share with you the wonderful news that Jody Watley & SRL dropped their new single "The Passion" on Friday, and we are loving it!

The Queen of Cool Jody Watley is back with Nate and Rosero as SRL. You might remember they were called Shalamar Reloaded, but they've shortened it now to SRL. They said on their Facebook page that SRL stands for Soul. Revolution. Love. You also might remember that they had our #1 song of 2016 with "The Mood."

The new song is soulful, and easy going. It's not a slow song, but rather midtempo with a unmistakable guitar part from Levi Seacer, original member of Prince & NPG. Jody takes the first verse, Nate does the second verse, and Rosero gets spoken middle part. Overall, it is a feel-good track that you are going to want to add to your music collection.

JULY 31, 2018 UPDATE: The music video premiered yesterday and it is was filmed in the Hollywood Hills. It's quite nicely done. They all look great. If you have ever been to a Jody Watley & SRL show, you will notice some of their crew in the video, too. Have a look ...
