#5 in our Top Songs of 2013 is “For Once In My Life” by Mel B.
Scary Spice came back after a long absence with this lovely gem. We’ve liked her solo material before, but with this song, she hit the ball out of the park. Plus Mel did it on her own dime. The result is an inspirational, wonderful song.
The video
is a top-notch affair on the set of Desperate Housewives! The video is also a nod to the Spice Girls’ video for their first single “Wannabe” where it looks
like it was filmed in one take. Obviously with the costume changes, it
wasn’t!
