#6 of 2020

Dear Poptastic Readers,

In case you are just joining us, we are counting down our Top 100 Songs of 2020. We have been posting a song a day until we get to the #1 song on New Year’s Eve.

#6 in our Top Songs of 2020: “What The Future Holds” by Steps. Click on the title of the song to see what we originally said about it.

Written by: Greg Kurstin and Sia Furler

Produced by: Barry Stone and Julian Gingell

Why: This track was also a grower for us. Not sure why but we weren’t immediately wow’d by it. However, it didn’t take long. Before we knew it, we were singing that big chorus all the time. We love how the guys H and Lee have proper solo lines in the verses. Claire, Faye, and Lisa give some incredible vocal performances. The lyrics are a bit timely for the year now. We just love it.

Watch: The music video is a bit sci-fi mixed with a classic dance routine that anyone can pick up rather quickly. Have a look ...

Live performance: Check out their live performance on The One Show ...
