#14 of 2025

Dear Poptastic Readers,

If you are just joining us, we have been counting down our Top 101 Songs of 2025 with a new song every day. See the past entries below. Tomorrow, we feature the next song in the countdown.

#14 in Poptastic Confessions Top 101 Songs of 2025 is: “Sweat” by Melanie C. Click on the name of the song to see what we said about it earlier this year.

Written by: Melanie C, Alexander Liu, Diana Ross, Dominc Joshua, Paul Jabara Raymond L Chew, Sean McDonagh, and Theo Hutchcraft

Produced by: Kingdoms

Why: "Sweat" is a song aimed directly aimed at the dancefloor. The verses are sort of talking, which is funny because Melanie is considered the strongest singer of the Spice Girls. But there is a singing middle 8. "Sweat" samples a 1981 song from Diana Ross called "Work That Body." This song just makes us want to dance.

Watch: The music video shows Melanie having a great time in the gym with her high heels. There is even a funny nod to the Spice Girls with the men's speedos representing the other Spice Girls: Baby, Ginger, Scary, and Posh. You can see it on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Live: Melanie performed "Sweat" live on The Voice Australia earlier this year ...
