Dear Poptastic Readers,
If you are just joining us, we have been counting down our Top 101 Songs of 2025 with a new song every day. See the past entries below. Tomorrow, we feature the next song in the countdown.
#18 in Poptastic Confessions Top 101 Songs of 2025 is: “Expectations” by Rikky Disco. Click on the name of the song to see what we said about it earlier this year.
Written and produced by: Christian Jonson and Fanny Ulrika Wahlqvist (aka Rikky Disco)
Why: "Expectations" is a lush, glamourous disco pop sound that is both retro and modern nu disco at the same time. This has some pop sensibilities that are reminding us of the Pet Shop Boys. Fanacy's vocals are warm and inviting. We are loving the soaring strings and funky bass.
Watch: There is a lyric video, which you can watch on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.
