#1 of 2015

Dear Poptastic Readers,

#1 in our Top 100 Songs of 2015 is "Cara Mia" by Annie. Click on the song title to read what Poptastic Confessions had to say about it earlier this year.

"Cara Mia" was the first single from Annie's Endless Vacation EP. We still love this quote from The Line of Best Fit to describe the song ...

"Cara Mia" - roughly 'my beloved' in Italian - is a storming house-infused
dance belter, with dreamy vocal hooks and smooth tropical beats."

With that brilliant description, just have a listen ...

While everyone was going crazy for Adele's "Hello", we found this to be a happier alternative. There is something so hypnotizing about this song.

Our silent contributor Arturo loves the song and had to say this about it "I find it so uplifting, and it automatically makes you feel happy when you hear it."

This is only the second time Annie appears on our countdown. Her song "Back Together" came in at #16 in our 2013 countdown

"Cara Mia" and Endless Vacation are available on digital outlets everywhere. Don't delay! Buy your copy today! You will love it! We do!

Cheers then,

#2 of 2015

Dear Poptastic Readers,

#2 in our Top 100 Songs of 2015 is "Would You Believe" by Ace Of Base. Click on the song title to read what Poptastic Confessions had to say about it earlier this year.

Now as you may or may not know, Ace Of Base have broken up. Blonde-singer Linn quit the music business, and brunette-singer Jenny had falling out with brother Jonas and fourth member Ulf. In 2010, Jenny went solo and Jonas and Ulf hired new singers. But those new singers are gone. Jonas and Ulf released an Ace Of Base album of mostly unreleased songs this year called Hidden Gems.

"Would You Believe" was the first and only single from Hidden Gems. Even though the song was recorded many years ago, it was amazing to hear Linn and Jenny singing again with Ace Of Base. There was an official lyric video. However, we prefer the fan-made video with Ace Of Base in it here ...

"Would You Believe" is a song that just makes us so very happy. We love everything about it. Wish it were longer. We spent most of 2015 thinking it would be our #1 song of the year. Still, for a band who is no longer, it captures the magic that once was. Maybe, just maybe, the four Aces will get back together someday.

Hidden Gems and "Would You Believe" are available on digital outlets everywhere. Don't delay! Buy your copy today!

Cheers then,

#3 of 2015

Dear Poptastic Readers,

#3 in our Top 100 Songs of 2015 is "Wildlife" by Parralox. The first time the song was mentioned in Poptastic Confessions was with Davearama's interview with Parralox's John von Ahlen in April. The song was also mentioned in the review of Parralox's album Aeronaut.

"Wildlife" was slated to be a single in November of this year. However, it was pushed back to January 2016. But since we had already put the song on our 2015 playlist, we decided to keep it, as it was part of our soundtrack to 2015.

January 13, 2016 UPDATE: The music video is back online! Check it out ...

Wasn't that awesome? Yes, it was!

Parralox also had another song in the Top 10 this year as "Aeronaut" came in at #9. Last year, their song "Crying On The Dancefloor" came in at #2. Perhaps next year, Parralox will get the #1 spot? Only time will tell.

Cheers then,
