I Wouldn't Know by Benjamin Ingrosso

Dear Poptastic Readers,

About a month ago, Benjamin Ingrosso released his single "I Wouldn't Know." At the time there was a lyric video, but we were holding out for a visual video. And that finally happened.

"I Wouldn't Know" is a laid back pop track with a big chorus. It really has an end of summer feel to it, and the lyrics are about heartbreak. The video shows Benjamin hanging around a lake. Have a look ...

Wasn't that lovely? Yes, it was. "I Wouldn't Know" is available on digital outlets everywhere. We've added it to our 2018 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. You'll also hear his previous single "Dance You Off" on the playlist. He won the Eurovision song contest with it! Enjoy!~

Cheers then,
—Davearama

Verona by Peter Wilson (Duet with Sean Smith)

Dear Poptastic Readers,

There is a new duet between Australian singer Peter Wilson and English singer Sean Smith. The new song is called "Verona" and it is produced by Matt Pop.

Now if you don't know who either singer is, we would like to remind you that both singers were actually featured last year in Poptastic Confessions

Peter Wilson with his song "Anxiety" as well as the amazing Parralox song he sang lead vocals on with "Last Man Standing."

Sean Smith had a song out at the end of the year called "Fire." He also used to be part of the pop duo Same Difference with his sister Sarah — our favorite song was "Shine On Forever (Photo Frame)" from 2010.

Now on to the new song "Verona." What a bop! It is an epic pop song about getting lost and found in Verona, Italy. The dance pop song has a lovely melody and both Peter and Sean sound great together. Have a listen ...

"Verona" is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today. We've added it to our 2018 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. Enjoy!~

Cheers then,
—Davearama

Slow Dance by RABBII

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Last week, Swedish trio RABBII released their fourth single of the year. This one is called "Slow Dance."

You can guess by the title that "Slow Dance" isn't a fast dance song. This is very in line with their previous singles "Left For Dead" and "Afraid Of The Dark." These are all futuristic electronic ballads with sad topics and big choruses — they make a great trilogy. Have a listen to "Slow Dance" ...

"Slow Dance" is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today. We've added it to our 2018 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. You'l also hear their previous 3 singles this year: "Left For Dead", "Afraid Of The Dark", and "Untitled Love."

Cheers then,
—Davearama

Made For Now by Janet Jackson featuring Daddy Yankee

Dear Poptastic Readers,

It's been a great year for acts that were popular in the 80s, especially from women! We've had new music from Jody Watley, Kylie Minogue, Kim WildeSamantha Fox, Mel & Kim, Lisa Stansfield, A Flock Of Seagulls, Information Society, Tom Bailey of The Thompson Twins, and a tour from the original lineup of Bananarama. Plus we just did features on Madonna and Belinda Carlisle.

Now Janet Jackson is back, and in a big way too! Her latest single "Made For Now" with Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee debuted last week to stunning numbers. The music video has been seen over 13 million times on YouTube in less than a week. WOW! Good for Janet for making this comeback. We still aren't happy how she was treated after "Nipplegate" while Justin's career took off.

So what is "Made For Now" all about? It's a bit of reggaeton mixed with dancehall, afrobeat, and pop. The lyrics are sweet and simple. Poptastic Reader Martin said "I love it! Leave it to Janet to give us just what we need now ... a colorful, positive, and uplifting feel-good anthem to rejuvenate us when we need it the most." Have a look ...

"Made For Now" is available on digital outlets everywhere. We've added it to our 2018 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify

Happy Belated 60th Birthday, Belinda Carlisle!

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Last Thursday, it was Madonna’s 60th birthday and so we asked our contributors to quickly send us a list of their favourite Madonna songs. We combined the lists and came up with a list of our top 60 Madonna singles. Then Friday was Belinda Carlisle’s 60th birthday, and we didn’t do anything.

Belinda Carlisle

We felt a bit bad about this so Friday night, we sent out invitations to do the same for Belinda. We allowed the inclusion of The Go-Go’s songs as well as non-single tracks. So this is what we did all weekend.

A big thanks to Raoni, Kevin, Neil, Paul, Nico, Arturo, Sausi, and Davearama for all contributing to the list. Covers taken from Discogs.com.

Happy Belated Birthday to the Queen of Pop Rock, Belinda Carlisle!

Enjoy!~
