Where Is Love by Mel & Kim

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Last month, a new song and single was released from the late-80s UK sister duo Mel & Kim. The new song is "Where Is Love." The news of this song came as a surprise as Mel died in 1990.

Mel & Kim are best known for their Stock, Aitken, Waterman–written and produced track called "Respectable." It was a UK #1 hit as well as many other countries in 1987. Their debut album F.L.M. also featured 3 more UK top ten hits like "Showing Out (Get Fresh For The Weekend)", "F.L.M.", and "That's The Way It Is."

Mel had been battling cancer and died of pneumonia in January of 1990. Her sister Kim continued on with a solo career in the early 90s. Her biggest hit was "Don't Worry."

So in the beginning of this year, we heard that there would be a new Mel & Kim song out this year. "Where Is Love" is a previously unreleased demo track that got an overhaul. It came with a nice remix package, too. Here is snippet of the 7th Heaven Club Mix ...

We've gone ahead and added the US Radio Version to our 2018 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. Enjoy!~

Cheers then,

—Davearama

Stop Me From Falling & Raining Glitter by Kylie Minogue

Dear Poptastic Readers,

On Friday, Kylie Minogue dropped her official second single from her country-pop album Golden. The new song is called "Stop Me From Falling."

However, before we get to the new single, we also want to point out that she released a promotional single called "Raining Glitter" and it is fabulous. Listen to it by clicking on the name of the song.

Just like her previous song "Dancing", the new single "Stop Me From Falling" has the same country vibe to it. It sounds very influenced by Dolly Parton, which is a great thing. We do think this song is perhaps more pop than country.

March 30 UPDATE: Kylie dropped the video for the song yesterday. It was filmed in London at a small gig that she did. We just happen to know a few people in the crowd! Check it out ...

It is a toe tapper for sure! "Stop Me From Falling" is available on digital outlets everywhere. We've added it as well as "Raining Glitter" to our 2018 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. You'll also hear "Dancing" there. Enjoy!~

Cheers then,

I Forgot by Clara Mae

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Happy International Women's Day! A big thank you to all of the women who make amazing music that we have featured in Poptastic Confessions over the years. Today, we want to share with you the latest single from Clara Mae called "I Forgot."

Now you might remember that we have been highlighting Clara Mae's music over the past two years. We first came to know of her in 2010 when she was hired to be one of the new singers of Ace Of Base. Since then, she has delighted us with her songs "Strip", "Parachute", "Taped Up Heart", "Drowning", and "I'm Not Her."

Her new song is "I Forgot" and it is the story about seeing an ex-lover at a party four years after the breakup and having all those feelings rush back. We find the lyrics very honest, refreshing, and empowering.

March 14 UPDATE! Clara released the video for "I Forgot" this week and it is fantastic. It's really good! Have a look ...

Admit it, you want to have another listen. Go ahead. "I Forgot" is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! For you listening pleasure, we've added "I Forgot" to our 2018 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. Enjoy!~

Tir Ha Mor by Gwenno

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Gwenno, who we once dubbed The Queen of Welsh Dream Pop, is back with a new single called "Tir Ha Mor" off her new album Le Kov. Only this time, Gwenno isn't singing in Welsh. Instead, she is embracing her third language Cornish. Perhaps she is The Queen of Welsh and Cornish Dream Pop!

"Tir Ha Mor" is a lovely track, which sits quite comfortably next to her 2013 song "Chwyldro." Gwenno proves time and time again that you don't need to understand the language to enjoy the song. By drawing attention to this very uncommon language, she might even inspire us to learn some Cornish to help keep the language thriving. Check out the video here ...

Very lovely indeed. "Tir Ha Mor" and Le Kov are available on digital outlets everywhere. The album is also available on CD and vinyl LP! Woo! We've added "Tir Ha Mor" to our 2018 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. Enjoy!~

Also, please check out the full album here on Spotify. And click here if you'd like to read our 2012 interview with Gwenno.
