Wasn't My Fault by Christie and The Dream Beats

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Dream Beats is back with new song with a singer named Christie (more on her later). The song is called "Wasn't My Fault" and it is a bit of a pop-rock affair with a catchy chorus. Apparently it was released back in March, but sometimes we are little late to the party. Better late than never.

Now if you have been reading Poptastic Confessions over the last five years, then you might remember that Dream Beats has had some amazing songs over the years. Remember these fantastic songs?

"Feel 4 U" by Dream Beats featuring Alcazar

"Love Stuck" by Dream Beats featuring The Face
(Singer Francine would go on to have
the #2 song with Parralox in 2014.)
(Take notice of the blonde singer)

"Beneath The Lights" by Dream Beats + Molly

So we haven't heard from Dream Beats in three years. So it is nice to have them back. But in a way, Christie is back, too! What? Who is Christie? She was the blonde singer in the short-lived group The Face on the song "Love Stuck." So welcome back, Christie!

Singer Christie Prentice

The song is catchy. However, I must confess ... I really hate when people say it isn't their fault, when clearly it is. And that is sort of the theme of the song. Oh well. Having said that, I still like the song. Check out the fab video ...

That was fun! "Wasn't My Fault" is available on digital outlets everywhere. Go buy it today. There is even a lovely acoustic number available

Dolly Style

Dear Poptastic Readers,

This truly is a confession. We've been a bit obsessed with the music of Swedish girl group Dolly Style since the end of last year. Something has taken over and we can't stop listening to the infectious bubble-gum pop that they release. Their music is so sugary sweet, and we are definitely not their target audience. But ... we love them.

Who is Dolly Style? Definitely a novelty act, as the trio always wear pastel wigs  and they are inspired by Japanese cartoon culture. Each member has a persona: Molly, Holly, and Polly. There have even been a couple of line up changes, but doesn't every great girl group have them?

Dolly Style premiered in 2015 at Sweden's annual music competition called Melodifestivalen. It is a contest to see which song will represent Sweden in the Eurovision song contest. Their premiere single was "Hello Hi!" The song didn't win Melodifestivalen, but it didn't do poorly either. See their performance by clicking on the name of the song.

The second single was released last summer and it was called "Cherry Gum." We think it might be their best song to date. Check out the fabulous video ...

Wasn't that ultra poptastic? Yes, it was! They followed up with another single, slightly less energetic (but equally charming), in the fall of 2015 called "Upsy Daisy." See a live performance by clicking on the song title.

This year, the group participated in Melodifestivalen with a crazy-awesome song called "Rollercoaster." It didn't win, and sadly, their Melodifestivalen performance isn't on YouTube. If it is, it is blocked in the US. You can watch a live performance of the song by clicking the title.

That leads us to Dolly Style's current single ... Are you ready for the title? Really ready? Because it is called "Unicorns & Ice Cream." Perhaps not only little girls, but gay guys of every age are also their target audience! Check out the fan-made video by clicking on the song title.

I just think they are so much fun. And the world needs a bit more fun lately. Don't be ashamed to say that you like them. It's OK! I love them!

Their music (except for "Rollercoaster") is on iTunes and Spotify. You can get "Rollercoaster" on Mp3va.com with a prepaid account. You can keep up to date with them by liking their Facebook page. And if you would like to hear acoustic live versions, then click here and here.

Cheers then,

Strip by Clara Mae

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Today is our 5-year anniversary. Our first post was about the wonderful Preaching To The Choir EP by Swedish indie-disco star and artist-extraordinaire Annikafiore.

So it is only fitting that on our 5-year anniversary, we feature another Swedish female artist Clara Mae has a new song called "Strip." Who exactly is Clara Mae? She is most famous for being a member of Ace Of Base from 2010-2011.

After singers Linn and Jenny quit Ace Of Base, Jonas and Ulf hired Clara and Julia to be the new singers. The band recorded an excellent album called The Golden Ratio. Sadly, only one single was released. Check out the video for "All For You."

Clara and Julia didn't last long in Ace Of Base. And now Clara is solo. I've just caught up with her on social media.

***July 15th Update**
The music video is out. Clara looks lovely and it almost as if she is ghost in this man's house. But will he strip? Watch the video to find out ...

"Strip" is available on iTunes! And Clara had a song out last year called "Avalon" ... You can buy both songs there!

Cheers then,
—Davearama

P.S. Keep up with Clara Mae by liking her Facebook page!

This Is A War video by All Saints

Dear Poptastic Readers,

All Saints have released their second single from their amazing comeback album Red Flag. The song is called "This Is A War."

The song is an epic affair. I suppose what I don't like about it is that the Appleton sisters don't prominent solo parts. And that has always bugged me about the group. Still ... a lovely song. Check out the video.

Wasn't that nice? If you liked that, check out their comeback single "One Strike."

Now, let's all hope there is a third single and it will be the incredible song "One Woman Man."

Cheers then,
—Davearama

The Return of Real McCoy

Dear Poptastic Readers,

The 90s Eurodance group Real McCoy are heading for a comeback this year. And it looks to be epic!

Funnily enough, three years ago today, I published my interview with former Real McCoy singer Lisa Cork-Twiss for Poptastic Confessions. I also did a history of Real McCoy before the interview. So if you haven't read that, click on the link and do that now!

In 1997, Real McCoy was Lisa, O-Jay, and Vanessa.

Before singers Lisa and Vanessa joined the group, Real McCoy was sort of like Milli Vanilli. The woman in the videos (Patsy) was the not the woman actually singing (Karin). However, Patsy did actually sing on some of the early songs. It's just that Karin sang all of the vocals on their smash album Another Night. Read all about it in the links above!

Real McCoy in 2016: O-Jay and Karin

And now it looks like Real McCoy is back. And this time, with Karin! So fans are excited that Karin (who provided the vocals for the group's biggest hits) is actually in the group now.

So nice to see Karin after all of these years!

We're not sure when the new music will premiere, but we suspect this fall. There is a teaser video of Karin announcing their participation at the Love Message Festival in August. Check it out ...

Isn't she super cute?

Until then, DJ Crayfish has put together a 2016 Video Megamix! Check it out ...

Wasn't that FAB? For the latest Real McCoy news, check out their Facebook page. And former singer Lisa has in a group called Glass Slipper. You can like them on Facebook, too!

Cheers then,
—Davearama

P.S. Check out some Glass Slipper's best songs ...

Robots With Rayguns

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sorry, I know it has been awhile since the last update. We have some new music to share with you very soon. In the meantime, I have recently discovered Robots With Rayguns.

Who are Robots With Rayguns? I don't know. I can't seem to find much information online (like a bio). Here's what I do know. They make infectious songs made out of samples (perhaps) and puts them to old videos of people spontaneous synchronized dancing! And really, what could be better than that.

Just check this video out for "Change Of Heart" ... Jody Watley fans pay special attention to this ...

Wasn't that fab? And now check out "Sugarbaby"  ... Remember Ready For The World?

I just can't get enough! If you can't either. Check out Robots With Rayguns official site. And like them on Facebook. Buy their music on Bandcamp. Watch more of their videos on YouTube.

Cheers then,
—Davearama
