#5 of 2018

Dear Poptastic Readers,

#5 in our Top 100 Songs of 2018 is: "Waiting In Vain" by Jody Watley. Click on the name of the song to what we originally wrote about it.

Why: The Queen of Cool hit it out of the park with this smooth jazz remake of the Bob Marley classic. She gave it bossa nova vibes and had us all in her groove. It really is a lovely song.

Watch: The music video for "Waiting In Vain" is shot in glorious black and white. Like the song, it is very smooth. Check it out ...

Buy: "Waiting In Vain" is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! While you are at it, don't forget about Jody Watley & SRL. Their song "The Passion" was #17 in our Top 100 this year. Both Jody Watley and her group Jody Watley & SRL have had #1 songs in our countdowns:

Poptastic Confessions 7th Anniversary

Poptastic Confessions has featured countdowns over the past 7 years, even before we had the name Poptastic Confessions. Check out the following lists ...

In 2018, we had a record number of posts, as well as a record number of visitors. Thank you! Compiling the list of songs wasn't easy for us. Most of the contributors also had different favourites. We have done our best to calculate the votes by contributors, plus how many visitors clicked on each post, and then bonus points were awarded if the artists acknowledged Poptastic Confessions for promoting their music, and in return promoted Poptastic Confessions. At the end of the day, Davearama and those closest to him helped narrow down the songs into this list. A special thanks to Raoni, Sausi, Nick, Normski, Jason, Janice, and Arturo.

No matter what position the song lands in, they are all worthy. Our main goal at Poptastic Confessions is to bring you music that you might not have heard before. We hope you have enjoyed the songs, and that you will help support the artists by legally buying their music.
