Dear Poptastic Readers,
Meet the amazing Mexican pop queen Gloria
Trevi! Gloria is one of the most famous celebrities in Mexico and is well known
in most of Latin America. She released her first record in 1989 and since then
hasn’t left the limelight.
Her life has been surrounded by many scandals
and controversies (she was even arrested in Brazil once under accusations of
sex trafficking, but has been since acquitted of all charges). Her life has
been turned into a movie (a really entertaining one, you must watch!).
Her last project was a duet album with fellow
Mexican singer Alejandra Guzmán, which was very nice, but kind of left us eager
for another solo album. But now she’s back with “Que Me Duela”, in true Trevi
fashion. The song mixes rock and reggaton, styles that Gloria is no stranger
to, and it works! The lyrics are about vampires, and how she awaits for one to
arrive at her house at night and bite her!
In the music video she tries every wig color
you can imagine, drinks a lot of wine (or is that blood?) and dances with a lot
of sexy vampires. What else could you ask for? Have a look at the video …
How about that last chorus with that crazy tempo change? It’s
things like this that always make us look forward for a new Gloria Trevi
record! She’s unpredictable and (almost) always deliver a cool pop song!
