#1 of 2017

Dear Poptastic Readers,

#1 in our Top 100 Songs of 2017 is "Electric Nights" by Parralox. Click on the song title to see what Poptastic Confessions wrote about the single last month. However, we first brought the song to your attention back in February when we reviewed Parralox's album Subculture.

For most of the year, we were listening to the album version of "Electric Nights" as we knew it would be the first single. However, we waited and waited and at one point, we thought maybe the single wasn't going to happen. Then in October, we heard there was an official release date in November. The single was released with lots of mixes, b-sides, and a brand-new single version! Woo!

We were over the moon with the new single mix and that is when we knew that "Electric Nights" would surpass Steps's "Scared Of The Dark" for the #1 position. Also, "Electric Nights" also won our reader's poll as the best song of the year, too. Now check out the Tron-tastic video ...

So electric, indeed. Parralox have been very supportive of Poptastic Confessions ever since "Crying On The Dancefloor" landed at #2 in our 2014 countdown. John even did an interview for us in 2015. We appreciate the support, and we are so happy to honor them with the #1 position this year!

"Electric Nights" and Subculture are available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today. You can also hear the new single version on our 2017 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify. Enjoy!~

Cheers then,
—The Poptastic Confessions Collective
