We just saw that Tom Aspaul has a new song out called "New Position." And then we saw that he had released a song called "You Can Try Me" in May and we missed it! D'oh! Better late than never!

"New Position" is the new song, and it is quite the fun pop song. It's a bit electro funky with a great melody. The lyrics are about wanting something new and different. The Last Time by Solid HarmoniE

Solid HarmoniE are back with a brand-new track! HOORAY! The new song is called "The Last Time" and it is a cover originally done by Sheelah in 2011. This follows the Nils van Zandt remix of "I'll Be There For You", their Christmas song "Once Again It's Christmas", and their 2025 version of "Circus."

"The Last Time" starts off a bit somber as the lyrics are about the last time being with a lover. Then the glorious chorus hits and the tempo gets faster. Still Got Time by MC4D & Clara Mae

Last week, while featuring Clara Mae's new song called "The One" with Ferris Pier, we saw that she had a song out in April with brother duo MC4D called "Still Got Time." We missed it! D'oh! Better late than never!

"Still Got Time" starts off sounding acoustic with Clara's soaring vocals. There is a glorious build in the music that leads to the chorus. There are lots of changes in the music making for an exciting, emotional listen. We quite like this. There is a music video, but Clara isn't in it. Instead, one of the brothers lipsyncs her vocals. Swedish group Italove is back with a new song with Luzan called "Just For The Night." We featured their song "Chasing Ghosts" in 2023.

"Just For The Night" is a fun dance synthpop song. It is very Italo disco. It is a duet between the lead singer of Italove and Luzan. The chorus is quite catchy. Mazaa by Meira Omar & LIAMOO + Dooset Darem

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Afghan-born Swedish artist Meira Omar is back with a new song called "Mazaa." It is a duet with Swedish artist LIAMOO. You might remember that we have previously featured Meria's songs "Hush Hush" and "Meri Jaan." We just saw that she had a song out in February and we missed it! D'oh! We'll get it it below.

"Mazaa" translates to "fun" and that is exactly what this song is! The middle eastern rhythms mixed with the gorgeous melody that Swedes are famous for makes for a wonder experience. Both Meira and LIAMMO sound great. We absolutely love the chorus. The music video is absolutely spectacular. We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

And now for Meira's song that we missed ...

"Dooset Daram" loosely translates to "I Love You." This was actually in Sweden's Melodifestivalen this year, and it made it to the final round. We remembered it but forgot to feature it. Whoopsie! This mid-tempo track is filled with rhythms and melodies that just make you want to dance and sing along. The Dawn by Jody Watley

The legendary Queen Of Cool Jody Watley has released a new single today, and it is called "The Dawn." The new mix was done by Alex Di Ciò. The song on Jody's amazing 2014 album Paradise, but never a single until now. "The Dawn" was definitely a standout track! In 2018, French Horn Rebellion sampled Jody's vocals from "The Dawn" for their single "Just Werrrk." Let's see what the 2026 version sounds like ...

The new Alex Di Ciò remix of "The Dawn" has transformed this song into a disco-influenced funky jam. While this sounds very modern, it also gives us some Chic/Nile Rodgers vibes! Swedish artist Clara Mae has new song out with Ferris Pier called "The One." We have been featuring Clara's music since 2016! Ten years! Last year, we first heard of Ferris with his song "Hynotized" with Izzy Bizu.

"The One" is a delightful pop song with a lovely melody. Clara Mae sounds great, as always, but it is nice to hear her sing a love song. This is a gem of a song and we really like it. Firefly by B*Witched

Irish group B*Witched are back with a new song called "Firefly." We last heard from them in 2024 with their Ripped Jeans EP, which featured the lead single "So Into You." We've heard there is another EP coming. HOORAY!

"Firefly" is midtempo ballad-esque with a booming bass. The melody is quite nice, and the big chorus is a beauty. The lyrics are about being there for a friend who is going through a hard time. You Got The Look by A*Teens

A*Teens are back with a new song called "You Got The Look." This follows their big comeback single "Iconic", which was a #1 hit in Sweden after their amazing performance at Melodifestivalen. It was their first new music in 22 years, and we are happy that they are back!

"You Got The Look" is a modern reinterpretation/cover of "The Look" by Roxette. The verses are brand new, and the chorus isn't exactly the same as the original. Overall, this seems very fresh with a big nod to Roxette. We quite like this. Sadly, there is no music video, lyric video, or visualizer yet. B.E.A.C.H. PLS by Dolly Style

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sweden's sugary sweet girl group Dolly Style are back with a new song just in time for summer. It's called "B.E.A.C.H. PLS." Earlier this year, we featured their songs "Mayday" and "Clap Song." If you are unfamiliar with the group, we have a history at the end of this post.

"B.E.A.C.H. PLS" is a happy feel-good pop song about getting excited for the weekend and going to the beach. Dolly Style are serving the enthusiasm. The melody is top notch, and the big chorus is a glorious earworm. We hope there will be a music video, but for now there is only the official audio on YouTube. We are unable to add it our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist because it has been tagged for kids. Boo!
