Cabin Fever by La Roux

Dear Poptastic Readers,

English artist La Roux is back with new music! HOORAY! Their brand-new song is called "Cabin Fever." It is the first single from their new album Old Flames, which is due out November 6. That means more new songs betwen now and then! La Roux is most well known for their 2009 worldwide hit "Bulletproof", which went to #1 in the UK, and top ten in the US.

"Cabin Fever" is an epic mid-tempo pop song. The music is a bit haunting, and the lyrics are about being in a part of a relationship where things aren't clear. Elly gives an emotional vocal performance. The video visualizer shows Elly hanging out on a deck by a late pondering life. We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"Cabin Fever" was written by Elly Jackson, Caiphus Semenya, and Letta Mbulu. It was produced by Elly Jackson and Martin Eden. It is available for purchase on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today. We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify.

Who's Sorry Now? by Linda Sonnvik

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Swedish songwriter/artist/singer Linda Sonnvik has finally got her 2002 song "Who's Sorry Now?" to be available on digital outlets. Over the years, we have featured songs that Linda has written. They are: "Spellbound" and "Sound Of Summer" by Belle; "Moves Like A Shadow", "Wicked", and "Game Over" by Em Appelgren; "En Stilla Depression" by Lena Philipsson; and "Devilish Dreams" by Emly Clausen.

"Who's Sorry Now?" might be 24 years old, but it still sounds good today. It is Eurodance pop with a strong melody. In fact, Linda won a Swedish song competition with this song! The lyrics are about leaving a relationship and feeling relief with the newfound independence. We quite like this. We happy to bop along in 2026! We've added the music video to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Who Needs Sleep Anyway by David Adavi

Dear Poptastic Readers,

David Adavi has a new single out called "Who Needs Sleep Anyway." This follows his previous singles "Mission Is Over" and "Nobody Can Survive." You might also remember that we featured his album Sweet Sins in January. Also in January, we featured "I Let You Go" by Jupiter Pulse, which David sings lead vocals.

"Who Needs Sleep Anyway" is heavily layered synth pop song. The lyrics are about not being able to sleep because you have too much on your mind. The chorus is quite good, and David sounds great, as usual. We've added the official audio to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

I'll Be There For You (2026) by Solid HarmoniE

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Solid HarmoniE have a new remix of their 1997 hit "I'll Be There For You" by Nils van Zandt. However, it is not just a remix, it is a new vocal take, too. The song was first released at the end of 1997. It was a Top 20 hit in the UK, and it was Top 10 in Sweden and The Netherlands. At the time, the group had a hard time getting out of the Spice Girls shadow, but time has been good to them as their debut album was full of bangers. Everyone loves an underdog story!

The new 2026 version by Nils van Zandt is more dance oriented, as it has a booming bass. We are digging it. It's a bit shorter than the original, but packs a punch! The original version had Melissa on lead vocals. We aren't sure, but we think it is Becki on lead on the new version. They all sound great! We've added the official audio to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"I'll Be There For You" was written by Kristian Lundin and Max Martin. It was produced by Jeroen M. Nap and Niels van de Zande. It is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify.

Bring Your Love by Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter

Dear Poptastic Readers,

On Friday, Madonna released the second track from her forthcoming album Confessions II and it is duet with Sabrina Carpenter called "Bring Your Love." No, it isn't the same song as "Bring Your Love" by Army Of Lovers, which they released in 2023.

The cover looks like it was made with Microsoft Word

"Bring Your Love" is a dance pop song where Madonna and Sabrina take turns with the vocals. The song feels a bit dreamy with a dance beat. We like it, and we think it is one of those songs that will grow on you the more you hear it. There is an official visualizer. However, BE WARNED. There are a lot of flashes so if you are epileptic or sensitive to that, please avoid watching it. We have added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Drum Machine by Melanie C

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Melanie C just released her latest album Sweat and the new focus track (formerly called a single) is the song "Drum Machine." This follows the singles "Sweat" (#14 in our Top 101 Songs of 2025), "What Could Possibly Go Wrong", "Undefeated Champion", and "Attitude."

"Drum Machine" is a glorious pop song with a fantastic melody and empowering lyrics. The chorus is europhic, and Melanie sounds like she is in her element here. The music during the verses is a bit dark, but the light shines bright on the wonderful chorus. Did we mention that we like the chorus? Melanie's music video premiered today, and it is black and white with her performing in a bit room with giant fan. Simple, but effective. We love it. We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Fascination by The Amplifetes

Dear Poptastic Confessions,

The Swedish band The Amplifetes just released a new song called "Fascination." Last year, they released "Idiots." We also featured them in 2023 with "Spin It" and "You/Me/Evolution" in 2013.

"Fascination" is a dark, moody mid-tempo electro track. It sounds very experimental and it reminds us of the early Human League tracks. It has so many layers that you can get lost listening to it. It is all rather dreamy too. The song fades out, which is rare these days. We've added the official audio to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"Fascination" was written and produced by Henrik Jonback, Henrik Korpi, Peter Ã…gren, and Tommy Spaanheden (aka The Amplifetes). It is available for purchase on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today. We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify.

Ritual and Dance To This by Icona Pop

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Icona Pop is back with new music! Their new song is called "Dance To This." They also released a song called "Ritual" back at the end of March and we missed it. D'oh! We'll cover both here today. Both songs are from their forthcoming album Ritual, which is due in mid-August. So that means more new music before the album drops! YAY!

"Ritual" starts off a bit somber. But the beat kicks in at album 30 seconds and the song changes drastically. There are some fierce talking bits, but there is also a lovely melody here over a jungle beat. The music video is edgy and shows Icona Pop taking control of their situations by helping each other. We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

And now for the new single ...

"Dance To This" is an electro pop song that sounds a bit simple at first. But then you hear the lyrics are bit deep and meaningfu. By the time you realize it, the music has taken a dark turn. Again, the melody is quite good on this one too. The music video features a woman in silver walking down a road at night while Icona Pop sit in a car and watch. We've also added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"Ritual" was written by Aino Jawo, Caroline Hjelt, Sebastian Furrer, Hanna Jäger, Erik Hassle, and Grace Martine Tandon. It was produced by Sebastian Furrer, Eric Dubowsky, and Sören von Malmborg. "Dance To This" was written by Aino Jawo, Caroline Hjelt, Sebastian Furrer, Wilhelm Börjesson, Ines Dunn, and Joakim Jarl. It was produced by Sebastian Furrer, Eric Dubowsky, and Sören von Malmborg. Both songs are available on digital outlets everywhere. We've added them to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify.

Suga by Whigfield with Rocco Lino DJ and Luv Foundation (UK)

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Danish-artist Whigfield (aka Sannie Carlsson) is back! HOORAY! Her new song is called "Suga." Does that sound familiar? The song was actually released 6 years ago in April of 2020. Of course, that was the start of the pandemic. That year, "Suga" was #76 in our Top 101 Songs of 2020Six years later, "Suga" gets a new updated version with Rocco Lino DJ and Luv Foundation (UK).

The new version of "Suga" is more upbeat and dance oriented. We really like this new version, and we are happy that Rocco Lino DJ and Luv Foundation (UK) gave it a new life. We think they vastly approved on it. There is also a music video that combines AI footage with some vintage Whigfield footage, as well as some more recent live footage. There is also a story in the video that connects back to Whigfield's first single "Saturday Night" in 1993. We've added the music video to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.

"Suga" was written by Sannie Carlson, James Reeves, and Domenico Canu. It was produced by Mark Schneider and Julian Napolitiano. It is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify.

Beating Heart by Una Healy

Dear Poptastic Readers,

The Saturdays' member Una Healy is back with a new solo single called "Beating Heart." This is her first solo release in almost 3 years. In a recent interview, Una said that she would like The Saturdays to reunite in 2 years' time as that will be their 20th anniversary! Hooray! We are all for it.

"Beating Heart" is one of those rare songs where the lyrics and music convey different feelings, but it works. In this case, the lyrics are a love song, but the music has a tears-on-the-dancefloor vibe. We love it. Una says "Mo Ghrá" a lot in the song and we had to look it up and it is Irish Gaelic for "my love." We've added the lyric video to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"Beating Heart" was written by Una Healy, Darren Flynn, and Tudor Davies. It was produced by Jake Richardon. It is available for purchase on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today. We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify.

Beating Heart is also the title of Una's new 6-track EP. Most of the other songs are ballads and midtempos. We will get to listen to them in time.

Let There Be Love by Tess Merkel & Martin Rolinski

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Last year, Tess Merkel from Alcazar and Martin Rolinski from BWO went on a tour called BWO vs Alcazar where they sang the hits of both groups. Now, they have released a new original song called "Let There Be Love."

"Let There Be Love" is a delightful europop song with a lovely melody. The tempo fluctuates, but it really hits its stride when the beat is kicked in. Martin takes the first verse and Tess is on the second verse. They've filmed a really nice music video that features real life and AI quite nicely. They both look and sound great. We've added it to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Free To Love by Duran Duran featuring Nile Rodgers

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Duran Duran are back with a new song called "Free To Love" featuring the legendary Nile Rodgers. The first worked together in 1984 on their US #1 single "The Reflex." They last worked together on the track "Black Moonlight", which was #6 in our Top 101 Songs of 2023.

"Free To Love" is a funky, disco-infused sleek pop track. The retro feel still sounds modern in 2026. The message is clear: Be free to love whoever you want. The music video is filmed like a performance on Top Of The Pops from the 1970s.
