"Welcome To My Head" is the latest single and it is an uplifting dance pop track. There are some talking vocals, but it is not your standard singing track with verses and choruses. Afghan-born Swedish artist Meira Omar is back with a new song called "Mazaa." It is a duet with Swedish artist LIAMOO. You might remember that we have previously featured Meria's songs "Hush Hush" and "Meri Jaan." We just saw that she had a song out in February and we missed it! D'oh! We'll get it it below.
"Mazaa" translates to "fun" and that is exactly what this song is! The middle eastern rhythms mixed with the gorgeous melody that Swedes are famous for makes for a wonder experience. "Dooset Daram" loosely translates to "I Love You." This was actually in Sweden's Melodifestivalen this year, and it made it to the final round. We remembered it but forgot to feature it. Whoopsie! This mid-tempo track is filled with rhythms and melodies that just make you want to dance and sing along. The legendary Queen Of Cool Jody Watley has released a new single today, and it is called "The Dawn." The new mix was done by Alex Di Ciò. The song on Jody's amazing 2014 album Paradise, but never a single until now. "The Dawn" was definitely a standout track! In 2018, French Horn Rebellion sampled Jody's vocals from "The Dawn" for their single "Just Werrrk." Let's see what the 2026 version sounds like ...
The new Alex Di Ciò remix of "The Dawn" has transformed this song into a disco-influenced funky jam. While this sounds very modern, it also gives us some Chic/Nile Rodgers vibes! A*Teens are back with a new song called "You Got The Look." This follows their big comeback single "Iconic", which was a #1 hit in Sweden after their amazing performance at Melodifestivalen. It was their first new music in 22 years, and we are happy that they are back!
"You Got The Look" is a modern reinterpretation/cover of "The Look" by Roxette. The verses are brand new, and the chorus isn't exactly the same as the original. Overall, this seems very fresh with a big nod to Roxette. We quite like this. Sadly, there is no music video, lyric video, or visualizer yet. Sweden's sugary sweet girl group DollyStyle are back with a new song just in time for summer. It's called "B.E.A.C.H. PLS." Earlier this year, we featured their songs "Mayday" and "Clap Song." If you are unfamiliar with the group, we have a history at the end of this post.
"B.E.A.C.H. PLS" is a happy feel-good pop song about getting excited for the weekend and going to the beach. DollyStyle are serving the enthusiasm. The melody is top notch, and the big chorus is a glorious earworm. We hope there will be a music video, but for now there is only the official audio on YouTube. We are unable to add it our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist because it has been tagged for kids. Boo!
