New London Boy & All The Young Dudes by Pet Shop Boys

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Synthpop legends Pet Shop Boys have a new double A-side single called "New London Boy"/"All The Young Dudes." The first song is a new radio edit taken from their latest album Nonetheless. The second song is a new recording of the 1972 song written by David Bowie, but originally recorded by Mott The Hoople. This is the 5th single from their latest album. Check out our reviews on the previous four singles: "Loneliness", "Dancing Star", "A New Bohemia", and "Feel."

"New London Boy" is a mid-tempo dreamy nostalgia-filled pop song with lots of emotion. It's not quite a ballad, but a nice song about growing up and trying to figure out who you are. The lyrics and melody are quite good. Sadly, there is no official music video, so we have added the official audio to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

And now for the other song ...

"All The Young Dudes" is an upbeat triumphant cover of the Bowie song, and the Pet Shop Boys have made it their own and with their signature sound. They've even made a music video for this song. Check it out in our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"New London Boy" was written by Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys). It was produced by James Ford. "All The Young Dudes" was written by David Bowie and Anne Dudley.
