Life by Jamie xx featuring Robyn

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Swedish legend Robyn has a new song out called "Life" with Jamie xx. Now we weren't familiar with Jamie so we looked him up and he is an English DJ, producer, and remixer.

"Life" is an energetic dance pop song. Robyn starts off talking though the song, but she eventually starts singing. This is a fun song. We've added the official lyric video to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.

Loving What I Got by Infernal

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Last month, we featured the single "Touch Heaven" by Infernal. That same week, they dropped another new single called "Loving What I Got." We also featured their song "Saw It All Coming" in March.

"Loving What I Got" is aimed right at the dance floor. This isn't your standard dance pop song, it is more like a club banger with some tempo changes. Be careful if you are listening to this song in the car, because there are some train noises that will make you think that a train is about to hit you! Round by Sugababes & Two Shell

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sugababes have dropped a new remix single today with producer duo Two Shell called "Round." Fans know immediately that this is a new recording and mix of their 2002 UK #1 hit "Round Round." This is a new vocal recording with Siobhan Donaghy as the original recording was with former member Heidi Range. You might remember that in January, we featured their new rework of "Push The Button" with Joy Anonymous.

"Round" is garage rework and sounds very different to the original song. The original vocal melody is gone and the vocals are just chopped up to sound like a dub remix. While it is an interesting mix, we think it just makes us want to listen the original classic. We've added the official audio to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

The B-52s singer Kate Pierson is out with a new solo song called "Evil Love." You might remember that we last heard from Kate was last October with "Every Day Is Halloween."

"Evil Love" is a funky pop song with a spooky theme. The verses have a catchy melody, and the chorus is breezy. Kate sounds great. This is one that we thought we featured last month, but forgot. WHOOPSIE! The song is called "Heartbreaker" and it is by Purple Disco Machine and Chromeo.

"Heartbreaker" is a fun pop song with a funky beat and a smooth synth. The chorus is quite catchy.
