Blame It On by Sarah von Reis

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Swedish artist Sarah von Reis is out with a new song called "Blame It On." Sarah also had a song out last September and we missed it. D'oh! That song was called "Phenomenon." We will review both songs today. Better late than never!

"Blame It On" is a piano-led ballad. There are some interesting elements here with the drums. Sarah does a great job telling the story with the haunting melody. We've added the official audio to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"Phenomenon" is also an artistic slow song, but we wouldn't call it a ballad. Maybe it is. It has a chill vibe until the first chorus, and then the music gets a bit heavy. Dance Alone by Sia and Kylie

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Pop princess Kylie Minogue has teamed up with Sia for a new single called "Dance Alone." We hope this doesn't mean that Kylie has abandoned anymore singles from her latest album Tension. We can think of a few more songs ("Vegas High", "One More Time", "Story", or "The Things We Do For Love") that she could choose.

"Dance Alone" is your standard mid-tempo dance pop song. Sia takes the first verse and chorus. Kylie comes in for the second verse, while they both split the second chorus. Their vocals never really come in unison making us think that both vocal tracks were recorded separately and not together. Kiss Of Life by Shaznay Lewis

All Saints singer Shaznay Lewis released another new track from her forthcoming album Pages and the single is called "Kiss Of Life." The first teaser track was "Miracle" and we featured it last month.

"Kiss Of Life" is very smooth pop RnB groove. The song has lots of long-held notes, which is really cool. The chorus is quite good. Because of the music video, we can gather that the lyrics are about her 2 children. The video shows footage of them growing up, as well as being present while their mother sings the song. Great news! Dannii Minogue is back with more new music! This time with Autone. You might remember that she returned to music last year after a long hiatus with her single "We Could Be The One", which was #10 in our Top 101 Songs of 2023. The new single by Dannii and Autone is called "Thinking 'Bout Us."

"Thinking 'Bout Us" is a glorious bop! This uptempo song has an amazing chorus! The lyrics are empowering as it is about learning to love yourself so that she can love the relationship she wants. And Dannii has filmed a music video this time! YAY! Even though it is mostly in black and white, Dannii looks amazing. Autone is quite handsome, too!
