Summer Dreaming and Superhuman by Pure Shores

Dear Poptastic Readers,

We were reading Scandipop as we do and got super excited that there was a new song from Pure Shores called "Superhuman." But then we saw that they had a song out in May with the Bingo Players called "Summer Dreaming" and we missed it! D'oh! Better late than never as we always say.

We will start with "Summer Dreaming", which is a collaboration with Bingo Players. This glorious, uplifting dance pop song is an instant classic! We absolutely LOVE it! "Superhuman" is a bit more reserve. It is about being totally in love with someone and putting them up on a pedestal. The chorus even talks about wanting to meet their mother to thank them. Alison Goldfrapp is back with a new song called "I Wanna Be Loved (Just A Little Better)." You might remember that we featured her song "So Hard So Hot" last year. The new song is co-produced by Richard X, who is known for turning out great dance pop tracks.

"Dear Matthew" is a slow ballad about being in love with someone who doesn't notice you. The lyrical content is very sad, but we can all relate. One Day by Betty Boo

Betty Boo has just released the second single from her forthcoming album Rip Up The Rulebook. The new single is called "One Day." You might remember that we featured her previous single "It Was Beautiful" featuring Hex in June.

"One Day" is a happy sing-a-long song, especially the chorus, which is sung, not rapped. The verses have Betty's signature rap style. The lyrics are about being away from someone for a long time and reconnect again. It is nice to have Betty back on a regular basis. Before You Go by Temmpo x RMGN

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Someone emailed us about this dance remake of the acoustic "Before You Go" originally sung by Lewis Capaldi. The artists are Temmpo and RMGN, both who we have never heard of before. Temmpo is the working name of Australian producer Tonino Speciale. We can't find out any information about RMGN.

We weren't entirely convinced about the helium-sounding vocals in the beginning of the song. But once we got past that, we really enjoyed the dance vibe. When the singer's vocals are sped up, it reminds us of RABBII's singer Johanna. We can't help but really enjoy this remake a lot more than the original. Touch Heaven by Infernal

Danish duo Infernal had a new song out in May called "Touch Heaven" and we missed it! D'oh! We are still loving their single "Saw It All Coming", which we featured back in March.

"Touch Heaven" starts off with Lina's big vocals and the music is a bit reserve. However, it doesn't stay like that for long as it transforms into an electropop banger after the first chorus. A New Bohemia by Pet Shop Boys

The Pet Shop Boys latest single is "A New Bohemia." It was released in the beginning of June, and we've been meaning to get around to it. This the third single from their album Nonetheless. You might remember that we featured the singles "Loneliness" in January and "Dancing Star" in April.

Kylie Minogue has just released a new song called "My Oh My" with Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo. You might remember that Kylie and Tove have worked together before on Tove's 2019 song "Really Don't Like You."

"My Oh My" has Kylie taking the first verse, Bebe the second verse, and Tove on the last verse. The chorus has lots of "La la la la" parts. They all say their name and their astrological sign in their verses, and it reminds of "Song For A Future Generation" by The B-52s. Heat by Tove Lo & SG Lewis

Tove Lo and SG Lewis have collaborated on a new 4-track EP called Heat, which they have made music videos for all 4 songs. Let's go track by track.

1. "Heat" is the title track and first song released. It is a glorious dance pop song that will have you moving in no time. The beats are dope and the vocal melody is quite catchy. The music video is quite HOT and we've added it to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist! It was written by SG Lewis, Tove Lo, and Orlando Higginbottom. It was produced by SG Lewis and Orlando Higginbottom.

2. "Let Me Go OH OH" has a very similar beat to Kylie's "Can't You Out Of My Head." This dance song is a bit more sexy and reserve. It was written by SG Lewis, Tove Lo, and Orlando Higginbottom. 3. "Busy Girl" takes a bit of a darker turn, but the beats are fierce. The lyrics are filled with attitude. Work it! It was written by SG Lewis, Tove Lo, and Orlando Higginbottom. 4. "Desire" picks up the pace to a hi-nrg dance track. The vocals are light and airy. The gallop beat keeps it pumping along. It was written by SG Lewis and Tove Lo. It was produced by SG Lewis. "Celebration" is fun pop song with a glorious rhythm section. The chorus is super catchy, like a lot of classic Dolly Style songs. So far, this has been a very good year for Dolly Style.
