Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton is back with a new solo single called "Numb." You might remember that we featured her last solo singles in 2024: "Edge Of Us" and "You Don't Know Me."

"Numb" is an interesting dance pop song with lots of music layers. The melody is quite good. Natasha has always been known for her strong vocals, and she sounds great on this. The music video shows Natasha in 3 Ws: Woods, Water, and Wigs. Falling Into You by Appleton

Dear Poptastic Readers,

It’s been almost 23 years since pop duo Appleton (sisters Natalie and Nicole Appleton, formerly of All Saints — one of the most successful female groups of the 90s) released their debut album Everything’s Eventual. Today, they have unveiled their brand new single “Falling Into You” with a premiere on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 show.

Appleton were, of course, one half of All Saints — formed after the legendary girlband initially split back in 2001. Natalie and Nicole, largely overlooked for their talent by the UK press due to their celebrity relationships, emerged in September 2002 as the “underdogs” to achieve a huge No.2 smash hit with Appleton’s debut single “Fantasy.”

“Don’t Worry”, a guitar-based ballad with Natalie on lead, followed as their second single in February 2003. It hit No.5 in the charts, before remaining in the public’s consciousness for several months due to featuring in a TV commercial for the Galaxy chocolate bar.

Everything’s Eventual followed later that month, entering the album charts at an impressive No.9. Sadly, Appleton’s success was short-lived from here — with third single “Everything Eventually” only charting at No.38 in July 2003. No further singles followed from the album and Appleton were then quietly dropped by Polydor Records.

Fast-forward to late 2005 and Natalie and Nicole reunited with former bandmates Shaznay Lewis and Melanie Blatt after putting aside their differences. All Saints’ third album Studio 1 followed in 2006 to little success. However, nearly a decade later, fourth album Red Flag reached No.3 in the UK charts, which was then followed by fifth album Testament in 2018. All went quiet on the All Saints front over the following years, with rumours of another rift in camp — as Shaznay and Melanie went under separate management to Natalie and Nicole. Everything’s Eventual was released on vinyl for the first time in 2023 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. After Shaznay released her second solo album Pages in 2024, Appleton took the opportunity to go back into the studio as a duo once again.

New single “Falling Into You” is a mid-tempo song with a soaring, catchy chorus led by Natalie. The verses are shared between Natalie and Nicole – and, of course, Nic gets her signature spoken parts at the start and end of the song. Produced by Gareth Young, who also worked on “Fantasy”, this song feels like a natural progression from Everything’s Eventual — very radio-friendly and a wonderful reminder of what All Saints and Appleton fans alike have been missing for several years! Dear Poptastic Readers,

At the end of November, we featured "(Christmas) Time" by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, which was a slightly altered version of the song "Time" from Sophie's latest album Perimenopop. Well, we couldn't stop listening to the song in December, and now January. It's not very Christmasy. We decided to feature the album version of "Time" here and add it to our 2026 playlists!

As we said in December, "Time" has a warm feel to it and it is about reflecting on a love and giving your all to a relationship. We absolutely love the bassline, and Sophie sounds wonderful on this. We've added the non-Christmas visualizer to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Letting Things Go and The Next Thing Will Be Amazing by Culture Club

Dear Poptastic Readers,

80s supergroup Culture Club are back with new music, and they have just released a new double A-side single. The two songs are called "Letting Things Go" and "The Next Thing Will Be Amazing." Both songs are rumoured to be from a forthcoming album, but there hasn't been an announcement yet.

"Letting Things Go" is a dreamy midtempo ballad with quite the bold guitar. Singer Boy George gives a great vocal performance. You can hear the official audio on our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"The Next Thing Will Be Amazing" is more upbeat and it is the more fun song. It even has a fun key change. Our only complaint is that the song is too short. It clocks in at 2:36. We want more! Both "The Next Thing Will Be Amazing" and "Letting Things Go" were written by Benny Di Massa, George O'Dowd, Mikey Craig, and Roy Hay. Both were produced by Benny D. Clap Song by Dolly Style

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Last year was a big year for Dolly Style and in December, they released "Clap Song" right before Christmas. We were in the middle of our countdown of Poptastic Confessions Top 101 Songs of 2025, where Dolly Style came in at #1 with "Yihaa." Check out our history of the group at the end of this post.

"Clap Song" is sort of a moden folk pop song with the obivious hand clap parts. The lyrics are very inspirational, and it is a great song for when you are feeling down. Baby Love by Regina Richards

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Back in in the mid-80s, a singer named Regina co-wrote and recorded the song "Baby Love." It was originally intended for Madonna, but she declined. Regina released the song as her debut single in May of 1986 and we all thought it was the new Madonna song as they sounded very similar. It went to #10 on the US charts and it was #1 on the dance charts. Her debut album Curiousity featured two more singles, but they weren't hits. Regina was considered a one-hit wonder. In 1991, Dannii Minogue covered "Baby Love" taking it to #14 in the UK.

At the end of 2025, Regina re-recorded "Baby Love" and called it "(Regina's Version)" because the original is not on digital outlets. Regina said this on her Facebook page: "It is a re-recording; produced by original co-writer/ producer Stephen Bray. The original is currently unavailable for streaming and that’s all I can say about it for now. We redid the song because we know how much fans have been wanting it out there again. It was very important to all of us to make that happen and we are happy that so many of you are really enjoying what we’ve done!" Well, we love it, and we are happy to support Regina! Talk To Me and Sexistential by Robyn

Happy Wednesday! Sweden's Robyn released two new songs today! Glory be! They are called "Talk To Me" and "Sexistential." Both songs are from her forthcoming album also titled Sexistential due in March. The first single from the album was "Dopamine", which was #19 in our Top 101 Songs of 2025.

Up first is "Talk To Me." We absolutely love this song. It is upbeat and instantly catchy. We will be singing it all day. The music is bit funky with a pop chorus. The music is really fun as Robyn is dancing around with dancers. This is so good. Watch it on our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"Sexistential" is Robyn rapping, and well, the lyrics are bit funny and very adult-themed as the F-word is used many times. It is rather funny, and the beat is dope.
