Been Here Before by Phantoms

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Last month, we discovered the amazing song "Pulling Me In" by Phantoms. While we have thoroughly enjoyed listening to it on our 2017 playlist, Phantoms have gone and dropped a new single called "Been Here Before."

"Been Here Before" is a darker slice of electropop. It starts off a little jarring, but once the song gets going, it sounds like something you might hear in a very dark club. Just have a listen ...

We like it. The song does clock in at over 5 minutes so we wish there was a radio edit handy.

"Been Here Before" is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today!
You can also listen to it on our 2017 Poptastic Playlist on Spotify!

Anymore by Goldfrapp

Dear Poptastic Readers,

English electro duo Goldfrapp have a new song out called "Anymore" that is quite the grower the more we listen to it. While we aren't always that familiar with their work, we loved their 2005 hits "Ooh La La" and "Number 1."

When we first heard "Anymore" we weren't sure what to think of it as we were watching the video with a bunch white women walking around the dessert while artistically striking poses and dancing about. We just kept hoping those women were wearing sunscreen so they didn't get sunburned. Have a look ...

The video aside, "Anymore" is a song that the more we listen to it, the more we want to hear it again. Lucky for us because "Anymore" is available on digital outlets everywhere on their forthcoming album Silver Eye. Buy your copy today!
You can also listen to it on our 2017 Poptastic Playlist on Spotify!

Cheers then,

Good Good by Vanessa White

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Last week, we highlighted the new song from The Saturdays singer Una Healy. That reminded us to see what the other Saturdays singers were up to, and it looks like Vanessa White has been making solo music all along. Her latest song is called "Good Good" and we agree that is indeed good good.

"Good Good" is an RnB track with very sensual lyrics. Vanessa has some soaring vocals. It's nice to hear her voice again. Have a listen ...

Vanessa has even recorded a video for the stripped-back version, which really showcases her beautiful voice.

Both versions of "Good Good" are available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today!
You can also listen to it on our 2017 Poptastic Playlist on Spotify!

Stellular by Rose Elinor Dougall

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sometimes we are late to the party, and that is just the way it goes. Back in October, Rose Elinor Dougall released a single called "Stellular." We missed it, however, we didn't miss Rose's glorious song "One Way Glass" with Innerspace Orchestra last year.

"Stellular" was the first single from Rose's new album also called Stellular. Wanna hear the song? Just check out the video ...

Wasn't that nice? Yes, it was.

Now, perhaps you are thinking 'Who is Rose Elinor Dougall?' or 'Why does she seem so familiar?' Well, Rose used to be in The Pipettes before Ani joined. Rose left The Pipettes in 2008. We lost track of her for awhile, but we are happy to hear here solo music.

Wild Forever by Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is one of the most beautiful pop stars of our time. She's not only beautiful to look at, but she has an amazing voice and is quite the talented songwriter, too. Her latest single from her Familia album is "Wild Forever."

Sophie initially got everyone's attention as a dance pop artist. The last two albums, however, haven't been dance hardly at all. Instead, Sophie's latest sound is with a band instead of electronica. "Wild Forever" is a lovely song with a nice melody. As always, Sophie looks fantastic in the video ...

While The Saturdays are on hiatus, Una is the latest Saturday to give it a go with a solo release. The first single from her debut album called The Waiting Game is the sweet acoustic duet with Sam Palladio called "Stay My Love."

Una started her career playing her guitar and singing in pubs around Ireland. So this song is back to her roots and sounds very different from The Saturdays. Check out the beautiful video ...

Wasn't that sweet. We think so.

Some Kinda Wonderful by Betty Who

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Remember Betty Who? She is most known for her 2013 song "Somebody Loves You." We also quite liked her her 2014 song "Heartbreak Dream." We lost track of her for awhile, but she has a new song out that we think is poptastic and it is called "Some Kinda Wonderful."

"Some Kinda Wonderful" starts off with some familiar elements with a rap/chant that kinda reminds us of Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl." However, once the chorus kicks in ... you remember the Betty Who magic that makes it her own. And the video is super cute! Have a look ...

Wasn't that fun? Yes, it was!

Women Of The Working Class by The Lovely Wars

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Happy International Women's Day! And as a lovely treat, The Lovely Wars have released a short acapella track called "Women Of The Working Class." And you can download it for free! What a gift!

The Lovely Wars

Didn't The Lovely Wars call it quits? We thought so. Perhaps this was recorded before they split. Anyway, here is what their SoundCloud says about the song.

"Written by Mal Finch, Women of the Working Class was adopted as the anthem of the Women Against Pit Closures campaign during the miners strike of 1984/85."

Here it is ...

Here are the lyrics ...

We are women, we are strong,
We are fighting for our lives
Side by side with the men
Who work the nation's mines,
United by the struggle,
United by the past,
And it's — Here we go! Here we go!
For the women of the working class.

Thank you, The Lovely Wars! And thank you women around the world. We love you!

Cheers then,
—Davearama

P.S. Ain from The Lovely Wars has new music coming soon. We can't wait!
