Wonderful news! The 80s new wave band A Flock Of Seagulls have a new album out with the original line up! The new album is called Ascension and it is basically a rerecording of their greatest hits with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. It gets even better, they have a new single and it is a remake of their classic 1982 song "Space Age Love Song."
Now if you are thinking that you don't know who A Flock Of Seagulls are, you probably know their megahit "I Ran (So Far Away)" from 1982. It was their biggest hit. But they also had some amazing songs like (our favourite) "Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)", the original "Space Age Love Song", "Transfer Affection", and "The More You Live The More You Love" as well as others.
A Flock Of Seagulls in the 80s: Paul, Frank, Mike, and Ali
The band was made up of Mike Score (lead vocals and keyboards) and Ali Score (drums), Frank Maudsley (bass) and Paul Reynolds (guitar). After having early success with their first two albums, their third and fourth albums didn't do that well, so the band split up.

Mike continued on as the band with other members mainly touring. In 2003, the original lineup took part in VH-1's Bands Reunited. But they didn't stay together. Mike has continued touring and recording music throughout the years.
"Space Age Love Song" is a new wave classic. The new version is very faithful to the original. The string section adds the goosebumps factor. It really shows a lot of respect to the group that made some amazing songs. Check out the video ...
