Club Zero by The Go-Go's

Dear Poptastic Readers,

The Go-Go's are back with new song to compliment their new documentary on Showtime. The new song is "Club Zero" and it has the classic Go-Go's sound.

If you just asked yourself "Who are the Go-Go's?" Well, here they are in the 80s ...

The Go-Gos's are Gina Schock, Jane Weidlin, Kathy Valentine,

Charlotte Caffey, and Belinda Carlisle

The Go-Go's are a LA-based rock band made up of five young women. Their debut single was "Our Lips Are Sealed" (US #20) in the summer of 1981. Their debut album Beauty and the Beat hit #1 in America. The album spawned their biggest hit with "We Got The Beat" (US #2).

In 1983, their sophomore album Vacation (US #8) had the singles "Vacation" (US #8) and "Get Up And Go" (US #50). One more album came in 1984 with Talk Show (US #18), which had the singles "Head Over Heels" (US #11), "Turn To You" (US #32), and "Yes Or No" (US #84).

After that, The Go-Go's split up. Guitarist Jane had a solo hit with "Rush Hour", but it was singer Belinda who went on to have a stellar solo career. Over the years, the band would get back for a tour and an odd song here and there for greatest hits collections.

In 2001, The Go-Go's released their fourth album called God Bless The Go-Go's (US #57) and it had one single called "Unforgiven."

So jump ahead 19 years to today and we have a new Go-Go's single called "Club Zero." We have to admit, we weren't exactly sure about it during the first verse, but then the chorus kicked in and it all clicked. Have a listen ...
