Yogarama with Jacquie O'Sullivan

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sorry we went almost another week without updates. Everyone is safe here. We hope you are too. Today's post is a bit different as we won't be highlighting any new music, but are encouraging you to do something special for yourself during these scary times: Yoga. And why not do it online with Jacquie O'Sullivan? She has an online class on Sunday for Bananarama fans! Details how to so below.

If you just said "Who is Jacquie O'Sullivan?" She is perhaps most well-known for her short time in Bananarama. When Siobhan quit in 1988, Jacquie was offered a spot in the group because Sara and Keren knew her and they knew Jacquie had been in a band called the Shillelagh Sisters. Jacquie was with Bananarama through most of 1991.

Jacquie went on to be a group with Paul Simper called Slippry Feet. You might remember their song "Thinking About..." that we featured in 2017. In fact, it was #21 in our Top 100 Songs of 2017.

Speaking of 2017, Jacquie hosted a Yogarama session for some Bananarama fans the weekend the original lineup tour hit London. Read about that magical weekend here.

The Shillelagh Sisters were to play a rockabilly festival next week in Las Vegas. The show was cancelled because of the pandemic. Hopefully we will hear from them later in the year! Apparently they have a rockabilly version of "Venus." We are hoping they release it! However, some kind soul recently recorded the Shillelagh Sister's only music video "Give Me My Freedom."
