Jupiter Pulse has released a new song called "Demons In My Mind" and it features singer David Adavi. If you remember, most of Jupiter Pulse's songs are sung in Spanish or Spanglish, but this one is in English. We are still enjoying their last single "Barcelona Summer Love." This is the first time that we have heard of David Adavi. We have links to his social media below.

"Demons In My Mind" is one of those songs where the lyrics are about something a bit sad, but the music is uplifting, therefore it ends up feeling hopeful. It has a lovely melody and the vocals are quite good. It is available in two versions: The regular version is very pop. The Demons House Remix which gives it an energetic beat. Phantasmagoria by Ani Glass

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Welsh artist Ani Glass is back with a brand new single called "Phantasmagoria." We last heard from Ani in 2022 with her song "Ennill Yn Barod." She even has a new album on the way and it is due in September. For those of you not familiar with Ani, she used to be in The Pipettes with her sister Gwenno.

"Phantasmagoria" is a reflection on a personal journey for Ani, when she was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in 2020. Once you know that, the definition of phantasmagoria makes sense: It is a shifting series of illusions, deceptive appearances, or a constantly changing of complexed imagined or seemed elements, often used to describe a dreamlike or surreal experience. That is exactly what this song is: a lovely slice of dream pop and the lyrics in Welsh add to the mystical tone. The music video also picks up the themes of things not being what they seem. Last year, Rebecca & Fiona captivated us with their singles "All Or Nothing", "Älskling", "Arena", and "Heartbeat." Then they released their album Mega Dance and we fell in love with the song "Bubble Bass." They recently released it a remix single.

"Bubble Bass" is an electro dance banger. It is so much fun: "Drop your attitude. No one likes a boring dude." About halfway through the house keys come in and it just elevates it. We've added the audio of the original version to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.

Pom Pom by Dolly Style

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sweden's sugary sweet girl group Dolly Style released a new single called "Pom Pom." The group have been riding high all year long on their hit "Yihaa", which was in Sweden's Melodifestivalen countdown to Eurovision. If you are unfamiliar with the group, check out our history of the group at the bottom of this post.

As you can guess, "Pom Pom" is a cheerleading song. The first verse has Molly and Holly introducing themselves, then Jolly and Polly on the second verse. The bridge is catchy, while the chorus is a cheerleader chant. The music video takes place in a high school with other cheerleaders. We've added it to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Earlier this year, we absolutely loved "Hush Hush" by Miera Omar, who competed in Melodifestivalen, Sweden's countdown to Eurovision. Her new song is called "Meri Jaan" and it is just as fabulous.

"Meri Jaan" is an expression in Hindi that translates to "my love" or "my life." It is a term of endearment. The song is sung in English, and it is a love song. Lovers And Strangers & All To You by A Flock Of Seagulls

Dear Poptastic Readers,

We were in the mood for A Flock Of Seagulls, so we went Spotify and saw that we missed 2 recent single releases from them! D'oh! Better late than never! "Lovers and Strangers" was released in mid-April. "All To You" was released at the end of May. Both songs are from the band's recent album Some Dreams. We already featured the first 2 singles "Some Dreams" and "Him." We have now subscribed to their YouTube channel so hopefully we won't miss any more future releases.

"Lovers and Strangers" is a tears-on-the-dancefloor song. The lyrics are "we used to be lovers now you walk on by." The music has the classic synth and guitar pop sound, while sounding very modern. This is a great example of an 80s band making modern music that doesn't sound stuck in the 80s, but it still sounds like them. "All To You" is a steady pop love song with a beautiful melody. This is about being head-over-heels in love. The music is lush and this sounds great. Our 14th Anniversary!

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Today is our 14th anniversary! Our first blog post was on June 11, 2011. For those of you who have been following us along the way, Thank You! If you are new, welcome! Please follow us on social media at the links below.

We often hear people say that they don't like current music. We say to them that there is a lot of great music out there, and we feature them in our music blog every week.

Poptastic Confessions highlights current music that gets overlooked by the masses, whether it be independent artists, veteran artists, dance artists, or artists from other countries. There is much more to pop music than what is mainstream. 

This year, we have already set a record with the number of new songs. We've had 89 blog posts. Both our Spotify and YouTube playlists have 105 songs. At this rate, we will feature over 200 songs by the end of the year.

Every December, we rate all of the songs that we feautured thoughout the year in our Top Songs of the Year. When we get to #21, we start featuring a song a day until we get to the #1 spot on New Year's Eve. Check out our top songs by year ...
