Heart's A Liar by Andy Bell featuring Debbie Harry

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Andy Bell's fourth single this year is called "Heart's A Liar" and it features Blondie singer Debbie Harry. His previous singles were: "Breaking Thru The Interstellar", "Don't Cha Know", and "Dance For Mercy." All songs are taken from the forthcoming album Ten Crowns.

"Heart's A Liar" is upbeat song about heartbreak. Debbie Harry does some great talking bits and joins in on the chorus. Debbie isn't in the music video, but Andy holds up a photo of them togehter and it adds to the drama of the lyrics. We've added the music video to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.

"Heart's A Liar" was written by Andy Bell and Dave Audé, who also produced the track. It is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! Listen to it on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify ...

World's Worst Girlfriend by Shura

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Shura has released her third single this year and it is called "World's Worst Girlfriend." We featured the previous 2 singles: "Recognize" in January and "Richardson" in March. All 3 songs are from the forthcoming album I Got Too Sad For My Friends.

"World's Worst Girlfriend" is mid-tempo song where the upbeat music and melody has a happy feeling. However, the lyrics are about depression. It's about not wanting to leave the house and staying in bed, but realising it isn't right and not wanting to be the world's worst girlfriend. The chorus contains the title of the album. We've added the music video to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.

"World's Worst Girlfriend" was written by Aleksandra Lilah Denton (aka Shura) and Martin Hadley. It was produced by Luke Smith and Shura. It is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! Listen to it on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify ...

Introducing Jupiter Pulse

Dear Poptastic Readers,

A couple of weeks ago, we introduced the music project Inga's Affairs. Well, then we found out that the main musician/producer Juan Pedro Pérez Gallego has another music project called Jupiter Pulse, which has released 6 new songs. Let's take a look ...

"Un Minuto Más" translates into "One More Minute" and it is about breakup and how the male singer would like one more minunte with the other person. The regular release is more of an epic ballad. There is also a lovely Dance Version.

"Salió Un León" translates into "A Lion Came Out." This is sung by a woman and it is about betrayal. The music is midtempo and melody is quite pleasant.

"No Me Arrepiento" translates into "I Have No Regrets" is also about a breakup and having no regrets about ending the relationship. Again, this is a midtempo affair with catchy chorus.

"Te Pido Perdón" translates into "I Ask For Your Forgiveness" is a song about breakup that happened in the past. Now so many years later, the female singer is asking forgiveness about not listening an knowing how to talk their former partner. It is very sweet. This comes in 3 versions: Regular, Dance, and Techno. The regular version is more ballad, the Dance Version is a normal sounding uptempo. The Techno version is super fast.

"Olvidarme de ti" translates into "Forget About You" and this is a hi-nrg song aimed directly at the dance floor. The male singer tells the tale of a breakup song where the other person moved on quicker. So they must forget about them. The second verse has some super fast lyrics. We quite like this.

"Happy Boy" doesn't need translating, but it is mostly sung in Spanish with a few English words here and there. This is a mid-tempo song with a big male vocal on the chorus. The lyrics are about seeing someone smiling at you and dreaming of a future together.

You can hear all of these songs on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Masquerade by Retropenu x Päivi Lepistö

Dear Poptastic Readers,

New artist alert! Retropenu is an artist from Finland. They've been making music since 2022, but we just heard about them with their new song "Masquerade." While we were enjoying the new single, a new remix was released by Sakgra. The song is duet with Finnish dance music legend Päivi Lepistö.

"Masquerade" is a midtempo mysterious pop song, which gives a Pet Shop Boys vibe. The Sakgra remix adds a faster dance beat to it. Both versions are quite nice for different reasons. We've added the official video, which the original version of the song, to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.

"Masquerade" was written by Jouni Hillberg, Jukka Hillberg, Markku Nikkilä, and Petri Murto. It was produced Jouni Hillberg. Remixed by Sakgra. It is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! Listen to the Sakgra Remix on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify ...

Beautiful World by Parralox

Dear Poptastic Readers,

On Friday, Parralox surprised us with a new single called "Beautiful World" (Benja Remix). We already knew the song as it appears on the group's second album called State Of Decay, which was released at the end of 2009.

"Beautiful World" is a strong track as it opened the album. It is bold with a beautiful melody. The catchy chorus is divine. The
new remix takes aim at dancefloors. If you like this new remix, we encourage you to also check out the original version as it has a lovely middle 8. We've added the new remix to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Temple Of Pleasure by SoundFactory

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Swedish dance legend SoundFactory has a new remix out of their song "Temple Of Pleasure", which was originally featured on their 1994 album Product. But it has been given the remix treatment and it is on their latest album Product 3.0.

"Temple Of Pleasure" had that classic 90s techno vibes. Limited male and female vocals with industrial sounds. Soaring keys and a fun dance beat. We've added the official audio to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Idiots by The Amplifetes

Dear Poptastic Confessions,

It has been a couple of years since we heard from The Amplifetes, but they have a new song out called "Idiots." If you don't remember them, check out these songs: "Spin It" from 2023 and "You/Me/Evolution" from 2013.

"Idiots" is a dancey mid-temp pop song with a great melody. The music has some house keys and a great rhythm section mixed in some subtle disco strings. The chorus has a higher vocal. Overall, it is very fun. The music video features scary clowns and because of that, we are unable to add it to our YouTube playlist. We've added the official audio to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Weeds by Sugababes

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sugababes are back with their second single from their forthcoming new album and the single is called "Weeds." We featured their previous single "Jungle" last month.

"Weeds" is a mid-tempo space-age chill song that might be classified as a ballad, but it doesn't feel like a ballad. Think Massive Attack. This
has lush harmonies as well as singing in higher octaves, which makes it feel like it soaring at heights, but the lyrics are talking about the weeds grow. Quite the contrast. We quite like this. April 30 UPDATE: We've added the music video to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"Weeds" was written by Anya Jones, Jeff Young, Jon Shave, Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena, Sam Harper, Siobhan Donaghy and Tove Burman. Dancing On Volcanoes by Gwenno

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Welsh artist Gwenno is back with new music! HOORAY! We knew it was coming as we follow her on social media (links below). We were recently listening to her 2022 album Tresor in anticipation. The big news is that after 3 albums and 1 EP sung in Welsh/Cornish, the new single is sung in English and it is called "Dancing On Volcanoes." Her new album is titled Utopia and due in July.

"Dancing On Volcanoes" has a classic indie pop sound with lots of guitars. The melody when Gwenno sings is quite lovely. There is also a fun talking bit. The middle 8 is a bit dreamy. We quite like it. The black and white music video was filmed in Las Vegas and we've added it to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.

"Dancing On Volcanoes" was written by Gwenno Saunders and Rhys Edwards, who also produced the song. It is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! Listen to it on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify ...

Circus by Solid HarmoniE

Dear Poptastic Readers,

The British girl group Solid HarmoniE are are back with a new song called "Circus." If you aren't familiar with the group, they are best known for their songs in 1997 and 1998 with "I'll Be There For You", "I Want You To Want Me", and "I Wanna Love You." In 2014, they released the single "Circus" for the first time. We missed it. D'oh! In 2022, they released their second album. The new release of "Circus" is listed as 2025 Version.

"Circus" is a fun dance song. The lyrics are about being over a relationship that has a lot of drama. Maybe a better title for the song would have been "I quit" as it is said more than "Circus." No matter, the vocals are fantastic. We quite like it! We've added the official audio to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist  ...

Introducing Inga's Affairs

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Sometimes our readers recommend music for us to check out. We love it when we like the music! Ha! Our reader Linda told us about Igna's Affairs, who is a DJ, songwriter, and producer named Juan Pedro Pérez Gallego from Sweden. However, they live in Spain, so the songs are in Spanish, and the lyrics are quite funny. Inga's Affairs has released 7 songs since November! Whoa! Buckle up, because let's dive in ...

Up first was the debut single "Olé Olé" released on November 1. This sounds like dance artist September doing a Spanish song. We love it! It will have you dancing in no time. Check out the official audio on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Song #2 ...

Next up at the end of November was "Boys Boys Boys." We thought it might be the remake of the classic Sabrina song, but it is not. The single cover only says Boys twice, but the song title lists boys three times. This is a fun song with a catchy chorus. Check out the official audio on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Song #3 ...

"Dame Maní" was released the same day as "Boys Boys Boys." This translates to "Give Me Peanuts" and well, it is about grinding on the dancefloor with the guy's peanuts. Ha! Check out the official audio on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Song #4 ...

"Nos Separó Eurovision" was the released in early January, and it is a love story about growing up with someone in a small town in Northern Sweden, but they went their separate ways, apparently over the Eurovision Song Contest. Check out the official audio on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Song #5 ...

"Fuego" came at the end of January. The lyrics talk about a neighbors house catching fire and the heat making the singer need to be hosed off. So hot, and very tongue in cheek. Check out the official audio on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Song #6 ...

"Mi Robot" was released at the end of February. In the lyrics, the singer talks about men from Sweden and Spain being very bad and she wants to replace them with a robot man. Our only complaint here is that she name drops Tesla. Otherwise, it is a fun song. Check out the official audio on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Song #7 ...

At the end of March came "Resaca", which translates to "Hangover." Someone has spiked the singer's drink with cocaine and all she wants to do is dance all night. Scandalous and hilarious! Check out the official audio on our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...
