On December 8, we start our countdown of our Top 101 Songs of 2025. Next week, we will feature some new Christmas songs as well as a look back to 2024 next Friday. Today is a hybrid song of sorts. Sophie Ellis-Bextor's latest is a song called "Time" and it is from her most recent album Perimenopop. However, she has given the song a new name for the music video and it is called "(Christmas) Time." This is only for YouTube at the moment. The regular version remains on purchase and streaming platforms.
The song isn't a Christmas song per se, but it has a warm feel to it and it is about reflecting on a love and giving your all to a relationship. We absolutely love the bassline, and Sophie sounds wonderful on this. The music video is filled with very fast Christmas images of Sophie, her husband, and their family. It is quite touching.
