Happy December! Bananarama just released a new remix EP with new remixes of their 1984 classic "Robert De Niro's Waiting" and their more modern 2022 song "Velvet Lies" from their album last year called Masquerade. It even includes the Boys Noize Rework of "Venus" that was released earlier this year.
Up first is the new remix of "Robert De Niro's Waiting" and it is called The Reflex Revision. This uses the original vocal track and well it is a bit of acoustic guitar, funky bass, heavy percussion, some light keyboard sounds, which may include some horns. Check out the lyric video ...
Next up is the Luke Million Remix of "Velvet Lies." This is a track that overlooked as a proper single last year, although it was released as a teaser track the week before the album came out. The original really is a great song, and our only complaint is that it was a bit short. The remix takes it to a dark club. The chorus lights up a bit with an added vocoder. Have a listen ...
"Robert De Niro's Waiting" was written by Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey, Keren Woodward, Steve Jolley, and Tony Swain. It was produced by Jolley and Swain. Revision by The Reflex.
"Velvet Lies" was written by Sara Dallin, Alice Dallin-Walker, and Ian Masterson, who also produced the track. The remix was done by Luke Million.
