#10 of 2021

Dear Poptastic Readers,

In case you are just joining us, we have been counting down our Top 101 Songs of 2021.

#10 in our Top 101 Songs of 2021 is: “Take Me For A Ride” by Steps. Click on the name of the song to read about what we originally wrote about the song earlier this year.

Written by: Karl Twigg and Mark Topham

Produced by: Julian Gingell and Pete Hofmann.

Why: Steps tried something different with this single as it is a bit more laid back, and it definitely worked for them. In classic Steps style, it has a killer chorus. The song is about a cheater, but we think it is mostly about someone trying to manipulate you and you not letting them. “Don’t tell me that I’ve lost my mind. Then use it as an alibi.” We’ve all known people who are the bullies and claim to be the victims. Empowerment.

Watch: The music video is similar to their video for "Something In Your Eyes" but with a different color scheme. Having said that, they all look great and it is visually stunning ...

Live performance: See them perform the song This Morning in the UK here ...
