English pop rocker Kim Wilde is back with a new single called "Trail Of Destruction" and it is the first single from her upcoming Closer album, which is due in January. So we should expect more singles between now and then. Yay! We last featured Kim in 2018 with her 3 singles that year: "Pop Don't Stop", "Kandy Krush", and "Birthday."

"Trail Of Destruction" is an energetic pop song with lots of synths, and guitars. It also feels like the music was done with actual band. The song has a great melody, and Kim sounds fantastic. Kim also looks fabulous in the music video. We've added it to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

The Player by Clara Mae (+ In The End)

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Clara Mae is back a new song called "The Player." You might remember that we featured her duet with Andreas Moe in April called "Wild Enough." Clara also had a song with Dabin and Said The Sky called "In The End." We thought we featured that one, too. But we forgot. So we'll also review that here too.

First up is the newest song: "The Player." This acoustic jam is about turning the tables on the person playing with your heart. It has a nice melody with some clever lyrics. The music video features Clara running around in the woods with a big dress. We've added it to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

And now for the song we missed ...

"In The End" starts off as a ballad and eventually the beat picks up to almost what sounds like a dubstep beat, which probably has a new name by now. There are a lot of tempo changes in this epic pop song. Clara sounds awesome, as always. We've also added the official audio to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

"The Player" was written by Clara Mae, Poppy Baskcomb, with producer Johan Lindbrandt.
"In The End" was written by Annika Wells, Dabin Lee, and Trevor Christensen. Both song are available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today. We've added both songs to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify ...

Edge of Saturday Night by The Blessed Madonna featuring Kylie Minogue

Dear Poptastic Readers,

It's been a busy year for Kylie Minogue with collaborations: "Dance Alone" with Sia, "Midnight Ride" with Orville Peck & Diplo, and "My Oh My" with Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo. Now she has a new club banger with The Blessed Madonna, not to be confused with Madonna.

"Edge Of Midnight" is club banger in the form of an electric pop song. The energy of this song will have you moving in no time. There are a lot of interesting elements here, including a catchy chorus. We love the way Kylie sings "11:59"! The music video is a fun night at party. We've added it to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

To Be Honest EP by Alice Dallin

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Alice Dallin has released her latest EP called To Be Honest. It features her singles "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?" and "Bloodline."

Since we've already featured the first 2 songs (click on the song titles above), we'll start with track #3: "Pressure." This song really has a groove that is deep. The mid-tempo jam is accompanied by a lovely vocal melody by Alice. We love it.

"Wherever You Are" starts off with a recording of Alice talking when she was a child. This is a piano-led ballad. The lyrics are about someone who is no longer with us. The vocals are rich and emotional. Midway through, the tempo gets a big faster and just makes the song that much more epic.

"Without Her" is another splendid track. Alice is storyteller, and there are some great backing vocals, which we think Alice is singing. It closes the EP quite nicely.

All song were written by Alice with producer Julian Simmons. The EP To Be Honest is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! Listen to it on our 2024 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify ...

Feel by Pet Shop Boys

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Pop legends Pet Shop Boys have just released the fourth single from their current album Nonetheless. It is called "Feel" and is one of our favourite tracks on the album. You might remember that we featured the previous singles "Loneliness""Dancing Star", and "A New Bohemia."

"Feel" is a standout track on the album. It just makes you feel good and it also brings up some nostalgia in a good way. The music is easy-going electronica and the melody is just infectious. Ripped Jeans EP by B*Witched

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Great news! Irish girl group B*Witched are back with a new EP called Ripped Jeans! We featured their single "Birthday" last year and it was Lucky #13 in our Top 101 Songs of 2023. The new single is the song "So Into You."

"So Into You" is the lead track and it starts off a bit slow, but then it turns into a pop banger with a chorus you just want to belt out, once you learn the lyrics. September 6, 2024 Update: There is a music video and we have added it to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.

"Multiply" reminds of a track off of Kylie Minogue's Tension album. This is a bit more down tempo, but definitely not a ballad. We like it.

"My Greatest Little Mistake" is the proper ballad, well almost. The tempo really picks up on the second verse. But it still has a power ballad feel even with the tempo change.

The last song is "Birthday." Overall, we really like the songs here. Our only complaint is that the vocals seem a bit muffled at times. We hope this leads to even more music from them.

"So Into You" was written by Emily Andrews, James Lawton, and Ray Hedges. "Multiply" was written by Emily Andrews and Ray Hedges. "My Greatest Little Mistake" was written by Emily Andrews, Hamish Brodie, James Lawton, and Ray Hedges.  "Birthday" was written by Danni Le Feuvre, Hamish Brodie, and Ray Hedges. All songs were produced by Mondo-Ray.

Everlasting (DāM-Funk Remix) by Jody Watley

Dear Poptastic Readers,

The legendary Jody Watley released her single "Everlasting" (Alex Di Ciò Radio Edit) in January of this year. In mid-April, she released an EP of remixes for "Everlasting" by Quentin Harris, The Slowz, The Illustrious Blacks & Amara Jaguar, John "J-C" Carr, and Gianpiro Xp. Today, "Everlasting" has been remixed by DāM-Funk.

The
DāM-Funk Remix of "Everlasting" starts off sounding a bit space age, but then the bass comes in and the funky groove really takes over this song. However, it is Jody's vocal melody that brings it all together. We are quite loving this mix of the song. We've added the official audio to our 2024 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...
