Obsession by Retropenu x Dubious Gloom

Dear Poptastic Readers,

In April, we were introduced to Finnish artist Retropenu and their song "Masquerade." They are back with Dubious Gloom for a remake of Army Of Lovers classic song "Obsession." Last week, we featured a song called "Unconventional Man" by Big Boy Therapy, who one half is Dubious Gloom.

This new version of "Obsession" is a faithful update with a disco beat. It has some elements that remind us of the Pet Shop Boys. Of course, the original is great song and this is very good cover. Great job! We've added the official visualizer to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Antonio by Inga's Affairs

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Inga's Affairs have released a new song today called "Antonio." Their previous songs have been sung in Spanish. But this one is sung in English, and it is available in two mixes: Benidorm Mix and Stockholm Mix.

"Antonio" is a fun pop song. The lyrics about having a good time in the summer. The Benidorm Mix is more of a pop dance sound, with a big female vocal. This is more emotional version. The Stockholm Mix of "Antonio" picks up the pace and turns it into a dancefloor stomper. We think this mix has a different singer, too. The chorus sounds a bit different to. Unconventional Man by Big Boy Therapy

New Artist Alert: While researching a song that we are featuring tomorrow, we stumbled upon a new song called "Unconventional Man" by Big Boy Therapy. The duo is from Helsinki, Finland, and this is their debut single.

"Unconventional Man" is an electro dance-pop delight. The deep vocals remind of us Olaf from Real McCoy. The music is lush! We are loving this. Immediate repeat after the first listen. It's been awhile since we featured Swedish artist Therese, but she is back with a new song called "Perfection" by Drömhus. Who is Drömhus? Well, it the name of the project in which Therese started making music, so perhaps this is a return to her roots.

English musician Alison Goldfrapp has another new single called "Reverberotic." We have no idea what it means, but we like it. Last month, we featured her songs "Dream Machine" with Purple Disco Machine and "Find Xanadu."

"Reverberotic" is a futuristic electro synth-pop song that might put you in a hypnotic trance. Don't worry, that is a good thing. The vocals are ultra cool, and the lyrics describe a sensual experience. There are lots of sounds here that one can get lost in. You are going to want to hear it again when it finishes.
