There is a new cover version of the 1981 synthpop classic "Don't You Want Me" by The Human League. We give props to the 2002 camptastic version by Alcazar. The new remake is by Meshell Ndegeocello & Cat Power. It is the first release from Meshell's upcoming album Synonym, due on October 2. The album is a collection of reimagined and reconceptualized classic cover songs performed as duets.
This new version is quite different to any version that we have heard before. This is laid back version that sounds like it has been recorded with an actual band and horn section.
