Bennington by Information Society

Almost a year after their last single, synth pop group Information Society is back with a new single called "Bennington." If you aren't familiar with the group's history, please check out the feature we did on them last July with their song "Nothing Prevails."

"Bennington" is a bit dark slice of electro pop. It is actually a remake of a song by John Maus. This remake changes some of the words, including the title "Bennington." In the new song, singer Kurt sings "Hennepin" as a nod to a place in Minneapolis where the group grew up. Also, the F-bombs in the original have been replaced with more colorful adjectives. Beautiful by Tiffany

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Fresh off her updated version of "I Think We're Alone Now", singer Tiffany has re-released an original song called "Beautiful" that she released last year, and we are glad she did. We are sorry we missed it last year.

"Beautiful" is a rock pop song with a great rhythm section with a chorus that hammers in "Can't seem to get you off my mind." Tiffany big vocals soar on this track. Check out the new music video here ...

A Little Bit Alexis by Annie Murphy

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Happy Friday! We aren't sure how this escaped us for so long, but Schitt's Creek actress Annie Murphy released a single called "A Little Bit Alexis" back in February! Even though we are a bit late to the party, it is deeply fab!

So what's the history about this? Annie Murphy plays a character named Alexis Rose on the hilarious TV show Schitt's Creek. This past (5th) season, Alexis auditioned for a musical using the theme song from her short-lived reality show called A Little Bit Alexis. Well, actress Annie Murphy did her homework and wrote this song for her character's back story. She wanted it to be a banger like Britney Spears or Paris Hilton. We think it is awesome. Sunrise by Dolly Style

Dear Poptastic Readers,

One of our favourite guilty pleasures, Dolly Style, is back with a new single called "Sunrise." This their second single of the year as their previous single "Habibi" was in Sweden's Melodifestivalen back in February.

So what's the new song sound like? Well, it sounds like a very catchy Katy Perry song. Remember how fabulous her song "Hot N Cold" was? Well, it's like that but better because Molly, Holly, and Polly are singing.

June 26, 2019 UPDATE: The music video has just dropped. Have look below. Also, Molly 2 has announced her departure in the group after 4 years. She will leave when their summer tour is over.

Looking For Someone by Bananarama

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Bananarama have released their second single from their latest album In Stereo and it is the fabulous fan-favourite "Looking For Someone."

"Looking For Someone" is not only a fan-favourite, Sara and Keren said it was their favourite track on the album when they appeared on a TV interview. It's a bit of a rock-pop track with lush layers and a gorgeous melody. It's also a track where they take turns singing the verses instead of singing the whole song in unison — Keren sings the first verse, and Sara sings the second verse.
