Back in September, we featured the song "Brand New Me" by Saint Etienne and Confidence Man. Well, we've really enjoyed it, but we didn't know much about the Australian group Confidence Man, so we found out they had a song out last month with DJ Seinfeld called "The Right" and we really like it. We think you will too.
"The Right" is a dancefloor delight! The beats are instantly fabulous, and the chorus is glorious. This is so much fun. We are super happy that we didn't miss out on this one. The music video has the group exploring Japan. We've added it to the 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

It has been awhile since we heard from Sweden's Robyn, but she is back with a new song called "Dopamine." Last year, Robyn was featured on "Life" by Jaime xx. Back in 2022, she did a remake of "Buffalo Stance" with Neneh Cherry. Robyn's last album Honey was in 2018.
"Dopamine" is a triumphant return for Robyn. The song has a few tempo changes, but when it picks up, the droning bassline will have you moving in no time. The chorus is amazingly catchy, and Robyn is delivering the vocals with lots of emotion. The music video shows Robyn with a fan and some sparklers proving that you don't need a big budget for an effective video. We've added it to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Erasure singer Andy Bell has released a new song called "The Chance Won't Come Again" with Tim Rice-Oxley. Earlier this year, we featured Andy's singles "Breaking Thru The Intersteller", "Don't Cha Know", "Dance For Mercy", "Heart's A Liar" with Debbie Harry, and "Xanadu."
"The Chance Won't Come Again" is a upbeat pop song. It is a duet between Tim and Andy. Tim starts the verses with Andy finishing them. They both join in for the choruses. The lyrics are a bit tears on the dance floor. There is an official video visualizer. We've added it to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ....

Sweden's delightful disco duo Rikky Disco have just released a fabulous new single called "Expectations." We are still loving their previous single "I Want You Back", which was released in June of this year.
"Expectations" continues this lush, glamourous disco pop sound that is both retro and modern nu disco at the same time. This has some pop sensibilities that are reminding us of the Pet Shop Boys. Fanacy's vocals are warm and inviting. We are loving the soaring strings and funky bass. This is awesome. We've added the official lyric video to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Swedish artist Clara Mae is back with her 5th single of 2025 and the new song is a country flavored song called "No Jolene." Yes, it is related to Dolly Parton's classic "Jolene." Is Clara channeling her inner Dolly? We'll find out below. Clara's other singles this year were "Growing Pains", "Hurricane" with Frank Walker, "Once In A While" with Josh Breaks, and "Tennessee."
"No Jolene" is very clever lyrically. When another women comes for her man, Clara retorts "Darling, you are no Jolene." Dolly Parton is listed as a co-writer so we think maybe some of the music might be the same as "Jolene." This is a fun county-pop song. We've added the official audio to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist.
"No Jolene" was written by Clara Mae, Dolly Parton, and Johan Lindbrandt, who also produced the song. It is available on digital outlets everywhere. Buy your copy today! Listen to it on our2025 Poptastic Confessions Playlist on Spotify...

The new version of "Shadows On Your Side" sounds like a muted remix of the original. Yes, there are hints of brilliance, but the slow tempo changes take away of the energy of the song. It clocks in at 4 minutes and 30 seconds. We wish there was a radio edit with all the beats there, because the beats get going, we really enjoy it. Overall, this isn't bad. We've added the official audio to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...

Sweden's sugary sweet girl groupDollyStyle have teamed up with Sweden's goth duo Scarlet for a new song called "Haunted Disco." They both participated in Sweden's Melodifestivalen this year with their songs "Yihaa" and "Sweet N' Psycho."
As you can imagine, "Haunted Disco" a spooky Halloween-themed song. Obviously, it is a bit harder edge, but it definitely has some Swedish pop sensibilities. The two groups wrote the song with their producer. The lyrics are about how all are welcome at the Haunted Disco. There is a music video/lyric video that shows DollyStyle entering a haunted house with Scarlet there. They even have a fun dance routine. Sporty Spice Melanie C has just released a new single called "Sweat." This is the second single this year from her as she released "Girl" with Anna Lunoe back in February. Her upcoming album, also titled Sweat, will be released in 2026. We expect many more singles!
"Sweat" samples a 1981 song from Diana Ross called "Work That Body." Melanie's version is a bit more hi-nrg channeling 90s rave culture mixed in with aerobics. The music video shows Melanie having a great time in the gym with her high heels. There is even a funny nod to the Spice Girls with the men's speedos representing Baby, Ginger, Scary, and Posh. We love it. We've added it to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...
