The Eurovision Song Contest is in May, and we have already featured Sweden's entry: "Bara Bada Bastu." We will highlight some of the other songs we like before then. Ireland's Eurovision entry this year is a song called "Laika Party" by EMMY. Here's a fun fact: EMMY is from Norway, and the song was written mostly by Norwegian songwriters and submitted to represent Norway in Eurovision. Norway did not accept it and Ireland did as one of the writers (who is Russian) lives in Ireland.
Of course, "Laika Party" sounds like "like a party" and it is fun dance pop song. Emmy has a very mesmerizing high vocal. The song is about the dog named Laika, who was a stray dog found on a streets of Moscow. The Soviet space program sent her to space in 1957, and she was the first living being to orbit the earth. Sadly, Laika died of hyperthermia. The song is an amazing tribute to her life. Take note of the key change at the end. We've added the music video to our 2025 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...
