Legendary dance producer SoundFactory has their third single with Jean-Pierre Barda (from Army Of Lovers) this year. The new song is called "Fashion." Earlier this year, we featured their songs "Cocktail" and "Wigs Lashes Heels Mascara." Today is also the birthday of SoundFactory's Emil, so we wish a very happy birthday to Emil!
"Fashion" is indeed a cover version of the 1980 song by David Bowie. In fact, SoundFactory's previous single was "Nightclubbing", which was also a David Bowie song. The single artwork also featured a part of a star. We are seeing a theme here, and we love it!
The vocals on "Fashion" are very robotic and done with a vocoder. We thought, this sounds nothing like Jean-Pierre, but then his talking bit comes in near the end and you instantly know him.
