The last few years, Duran Duran have really embraced Halloween, and this year they have a new single "Shadows On Your Side." Now any Duranie will surely know this is a remake of their song from 1983 on the album Seven and the Ragged Tiger. In 2023, the group released their Halloween-inspired album Danse Macabra, with the singles "Danse Macabra", "Black Moonlight", and "Psycho Killer." Last year, they reissued the album in DE LUXE form with two new remakes: "New Moon (Dark Phase)" and "Evil Woman."
The new version of "Shadows On Your Side" sounds like a muted remix of the original. Yes, there are hints of brilliance, but the slow tempo changes take away of the energy of the song. It clocks in at 4 minutes and 30 seconds. We wish there was a radio edit with all the beats there, because the beats get going, we really enjoy it. Overall, this isn't bad.
