#18 in my favourite songs of 2011 is "Call Your Girlfriend" by Robyn. Last year, Swedish singer Robyn had three songs in my Top 20 with "Dancing On My Own" at #6, "Hang With Me" at #14, and "Indestructible" at #20.
"Call Your Girlfriend" is a sweet, melancholy song about falling in love with a man who already has a girlfriend and giving him advice on how to end the relationship. I think most of the advice is good, except for the calling part. He should actually end the relationship in person, not over the phone. But let's be thankful the song is not called "Text Your Girlfriend."
The video is simple, yet AMAZING! It is Robyn dancing around a hanger with an lovely light show. It just goes to show that you don't need a big budget to have a quality video.
Robyn's music is available on US iTunes.
