Ever since Madonna released her latest album Confessions II in July, we've been waiting for Madonna to release "Danceteria" as an official single, as it is our favourite song on the album. In late August, Madonna released the Harry Romero Remix. She has just released a new version of the song, and it is called "Danceteria Afterhours" with Charli XCX, although the artwork for the single just says "Danceteria."
"Danceteria Afterhours" is definitely new take on the song. Charli sings all new verses with lyrics from her perspective, which is cool. However, it comes at a cost as some of the original Madonna lyrics are missing here. Some our favourite lines about Debbie Mazar, Nile Rodgers, and The B-52's are gone. That's a bummer. However, this isn't by any means bad. We like it. We think we just prefer the original version, that's all. No disrespect to Charli as we like her. We are also still waiting for the original music video to be released in full. For now, we've added the official audio for "Danceteria Afterhours" to our 2026 Poptastic Confessions YouTube Playlist ...
