It's a glorious day as Sugababes just released a new song called "Ghost." They've also announced their self-titled album to be released in February of 2027. Here is the cover for their upcoming album Sugababes ...
The only bummer is that there is no official single artwork for "Ghost" as they used the upcoming album cover. Well, we made some new covers rather quickly. Up first is the faux cover to look like their singles last year. If you need a reminder, they were "Jungle" (#2 in our Top 101 Songs of 2025), "Weeds", and "Shook" (#5 in our Top 101 Songs of 2025).
The first 10 seconds of "Ghost" start off a bit distorted, but the song quickly gets its midtempo groove. Mutya takes the lead on the first verse. The lyrics are about a bad relationship that didn't work. The vocals are wonderful during the chorus. The second verse is split between Keisha, Mutya, and Siobhan. The middle bit features Keisha and Mutya, and then Siobhan before they all come in for some heavenly vocals. Here's another faux cover ...
The music video for "Ghost" is a bit epic. It starts off with Mutya looking fierce while sitting at a grave. There is a funeral procession with the Sugababes, a dance troupe, a mysterious older woman, and classic hearse. Keisha and Siobhan's solo bit take place in a church. It is quite good. We quite like that "Ghost" clocks in at 3:37, making it the longest song of singles from this album. Two of them were under 3 minutes. This is a delight to have the song around a bit longer. Here is another faux cover ...
"Ghost" was written by Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena, Siobhan Donaghy, Wayne Hector, and Jon Shave. It was produced by John Shave. Keisha, Mutya, and Siobhan get vocal producer credits. Anya Jones is listed as associate producer. It was mixed by Geoff Swan with co-mixer Matt Cahill. It was mastered by Chris Gehringer.
