#18 of 2014

Dear Poptastic Readers,

#18 in our Top Songs of 2014 is “Everything We Touch” by Say Lou Lou. Click on the title to read what we first wrote about it.

This was the first song we heard (through Scandipop) from the twin-sisters duo. Miranda and Elektra are Australian and Swedish.

Say Lou Lou

At first, we weren't so sure about the song. Dragons? Then the chorus came in and we were hooked. It is a great dream-pop song. Check out the video ...

“Everything We Touch” is available on digital outlets. Don’t delay! Buy it today!

#19 of 2014

Dear Poptastic Readers,

#19 in Top Songs of 2014
is “Fratolish Hiang Perpeshki” by Gwenno, The Queen of Welsh Dream Pop. Click on the title to read what we first wrote about it.

This song was taken from Gwenno’s debut full-length album Y Dydd Olaf. It’s a bit of an Italo-disco number sung in Welsh. It’s kind of a sad dance song. Now you might remember that Davearama edited a video for this song. Our drag-queen friends Sausi and Madison made a music video for another song this year, and the leftover footage was used to create a video for Gwenno. Have a look ...

“Fratolish Hiang Perpeshki” is available on iTunes, as well as Gwenno’s fabulous album Y Dydd Olaf. Don’t delay! Buy it today!

#20 of 2014

Dear Poptastic Readers,

#20 in our Top Songs of 2014 is “Crystallize” by Kylie Minogue. Click on the title to read what we first wrote about it.

This was sort of strange single because Kylie had a new album out this year called Kiss Me Once, and this song wasn’t on it. Instead, the song was a charity single raising money for One Note Against Cancer. So, it was for a good cause.

The song was written by Kylie and Babydaddy of the Scissor Sisters. I love the uplifting feel the song has. The video is cute. Have a look.

“Crystallize” is available on iTunes. Don’t delay! Buy it today! Share this post on social media!

Bonus: #21 of 2014

Dear Poptastic Readers,

Welcome to the countdown of our Top Songs of 2014. Every year we start with the song that didn’t make the Top 20. We like to call it the bonus song as it gets its own call out. So without any more delay …

#21 in our Top Songs of 2014 is “Universal Love Vibe” by Glass Slipper. Click on the title to read what we first wrote about it.

A few years ago, Poptastic Confessions editor Davearama was trying to figure out what happened to singer Lisa Cork who was in the 90s Eurodance group Real McCoy for their last album. Somehow, he stumbled upon Lisa’s Soundcloud page, and that is when he first heard “Universal Love Vibe.” Of course it was quite different back then. It was described as Jazzy pop. Click on the title there to hear the original version.

Then Davearama interviewed Lisa for Poptastic Confessions. His former co-worker Brad read the interview and realized they both lived in the same city. Together they formed the deep house duo Glass Slipper. They gave “Universal Love Vibe” a fresh new sound. Have a listen ...

It’s a great dance track with uplifting vocals and a “Universal Love Vibe.” Isn't it divine?
